As a sound engineer myself I can agree with you on the whole projection thing accept here, everything they do is done on purpose, XG has no weak links, they have 4 rappers and 3 singers however with them it’s also 7 rappers, 7 singers, and 7 dancers and they are the best in the industry at all aspects no one comes close, and for future notice (much like how Babymetal is it’s own genre they created and no one is in the same category) they are Xpop a genre they created (they are also the only group in that genre) they are not Kpop or Jpop, so do not whatever you do compare them to any other group no one does what they do

the best girl group out there, not one of. so sick of all these kpop girl groups recycling concepts, looks and choreos over and over again, one after another. XG is willing to tread in a different territory that no one else is willing to go and doing great in it. the only girl group that i can say is truly ground breaking in the past decade. y'all can tell me whatever group is amazing and classic and they are the most popular etc yadi yada, but in the past decade, no one has done it like XG. - a kpop listener since early 2000s who stan'ed BoA and Shinwa.

Currently of the newer 4G/5G gg, XG and Babymonster would be at the top in terms of sheer talent and all around skills dancing, vocals, rap and creativity. XG’s team and Simon are more creative and willing to take more risks whereas YG is a giant and they are sticking with a tried and true formula but this does not detract from the immense talent of the Babymonster members. All are aces as are all members of XG

I agree that Babymonster are talented . . . My only criticism of them is that compared to XG, BM at times would scream their rap lines so it seems forced at times . . .. and XG’s swag is unmatched and rapping seems more second nature to them . .. no hate to BM .. just my honest opinion

XGALX is new company, Simon first time doing this, BM is talented but they were given Blackpinks fanbase, XG, XGLAX has to scratch an claw for every fan, every view, trained for 5 yrs, 3 members almost got cut so, I like them because of what they had do to get here, they perform with a chip on their shoulder, ‘told my haters, yo more the merrier’ - both groups are talented but XG personality and attitude, natural swag, takes it for me. no hate

My personal opinion here is that in the vocals department and over the complete group, BM actually has quite a bit more assembled talent than XG. As for the dance skills ... erm, that's not even close, sorry. Even a fairly unknown group like Young Posse has more really good dancers, and I won't even start on Badvillain. I'll admit that BM is working on it ... the performance video of Like That was their best choreo to date. As for the rapping, from the technical perspective Asa clearly has the skill to keep up (Japanese championship?), and Asa can also write good rap lyrics. Alas, YG won't let her, and some of the YG-provided BM rap lyrics are, sorry not sorry, crap. Impressive performance, but one shouldn't expect any bars. Unless, as hinted at, when somebody decides to let Asa really play out her talents. All that being said, Babymonster is still in my Top 5 girl groups, so, yeah, for the most part I very much agree with you.
