Hi! Big fan of XG here. So for a bit of context, XG means Xtraordinary Girls and they are a global girl group, which is the reason their songs are entirely in English. There are 7 members and they debuted this year in March with a title track called Tippy Toes and they had a comeback called Mascara. The girls are all very young, Cocona for example was born in 05 (she's the youngest). So what they've been doing now is releasing videos of their vocal line and their rap line (which is the video you saw) to showcase their talents. Besides this video, there is a predebut XG Tape (XG Tape #1) that only features Jurin and Harvey. I hope you get into the group bc they are absolutely amazing!

That’s not quite accurate either. They’re at least PARTIALLY kpop, at the very least. They’re Japanese, yes. But they’re basically formed and trained under the kpop system. They chose to be based in SK and are promoting in SK music shows and are learning/rapping in Korean. So all 3 things can be true-they’re a Japanese group, a kpop group, and an international group. I wouldn’t rule out them releasing music in Korean in the future, either.

They did a live test video for each girl where they are doing it live in a practice room. I actually enjoy those videos more than the video shoots. You can see all of their each swag and presence. Especially Maya, loved hers the most. You don’t get to see their charm as much in the video shoot because you can tell they have them a concept. So I like seeing their rawness. Pleaseee check it out. And I like how they added the lyrics on screen so you can easily see them switching from the different languages. This has to be one of the best cyphers I’ve experienced lol
