I appreciate seeing XG recognized for their skills in rap not just as a k-pop girl group, but as genuine rappers. Like I assume they’re not writing their own stuff necessarily but their ability to tap into their own vocal flow is wild to me. It’s so rare to see a group where every single one of them can rap this seamlessly despite not being debuted as a rap-only group. idk. I’ve listened to a lot of k-pop and XG feels like they’re really on something else, especially considering the lack of groups like this in the US. yeah there’s female rappers owning the game but seven of them working cohesively??? crazyyyyy

Also not to mention how XG stayed in Korea for a while to learn Korean and their culture. But as you said, they are also a Global girl group in general which aligns with them singing/rapping in English to attract even more international fans. Just to fill ya in, hope this helps!

This video is so important to me, mostly because groups in East/Southeast Asia don’t take rap seriously (it’s often relegated to a member of an idol group who can’t contribute vocally but honestly is usually lacking the technical prowess to rap competently). It’s a craft just like singing and yes, girls can do it just as skillfully as men can. I think this song will inspire others to get up on stage and show everyone what their pen can do. There are so many different flows here that showcase the wide range of rapping styles and techniques that are out there as well!
