Even the hardcore rap/hiphop reaction channels are mind blown by XG which they should be. Aint no girl group on the planet earth as fly as XG. "Woke Up" is MV of the Year 100%. And its true what you said though ive heard people describe XG as like an unstoppable superhero team girl group all 7 of them ultra talented all arounders

"Woke Up" is so good the reactions i've watched have left people literally breathless and mind blown. XG is just on another level. If this doesnt chart on Billboard that would be ridiculous. Its crazy they aren't the biggest girl group on the planet yet. But they aren't K-pop so they don't have that massive K-pop network of the "Big 4" backing them

No offense, but I think people are forgetting to look at the credits of these songs. None of the girls participated in the writing of this song. I know that Maya and Cocona participated in Show You Can and that the cyphers don’t have the credits written down, but apart from that they have never written their own verses and that’s okay too. Comparing them to people who actually write their own raps is a little iffy even though their delivery is obviously amazing.

Whilst I love XG, comparing them to completely self-written rappers like RM or others is setting them up to fail, when the fluency of the English bars their handling is clearly above the english level of most of the girls in the group -not to mention the references being made definitely being very old-head-ish lol. That's not to take away from the girls, as its pretty common for most idols to not write their own stuff, and they at least seem to contribute, which is more than can be said for others. XG, unlike a majority of groups across the K and J scene are heavily black inspired because they have so many black figures involved in thier music production and songwriting, and I think that's why they're leagues above other groups who try to incorporate hip hop into thier discography. XG always gives me Da Brat vibes.

@doraemon8975 I think their company should take advantage of their Japanese and show us what they can do by themselves with their own pen. Until then, this sort of valid criticism as a rap focused group might hinder them as they grow. Jpop isn't as popular as Kpop seems to be, but other acts have proven that J-rap sounds just as good phonetically and XGs production alone will ensure they're bops regardless of language, so there's potential in my opinion. BTW is there any self-written pre-debut stuff the girls have?

I gotta agree, the rap line in XG can easily body most kpop group rappers and I stand by that as a kpop multistan. I think XG just have better lyrics that puts them above the majority of Kpop group rappers in both male and female groups that have cheesy and nonsensical lyrics, especially when they rap in English. However, there are a few like Agust D, J-Hope, Mark (nct), Taeyong (nct) that always kill it in terms of lyrics and flow.
