Liz Akama deserves the gold in this one, i really dont think 1 switch flip is worth that much points, + Liz made way more tricks more speed better style, more diverse tricks aswell. this felt rigged TBH
@JD_tcb Жыл бұрын
She did lack flip tricks entirely but yeah... I think she more than compensated for it tbh.
@talk-supersix-seven6021 Жыл бұрын
@@JD_tcbyeah 270 lip, good grinds/slides that were most difficult. It’s odd but she has like a traditional good style flow whereas momiji has the peak steezey style. Liz could improve by just dialling in kickflip front board or kickflip 50-50 to add that factor to her runs. One interesting thing is we will see how these skaters mature even more as they age. Yumeka hit that 9.4 kickflip feeble at sls, regularly does that and also kickflip 50-50 or kickflip front board. Consider Pamela Rosa, she had the most aggressive style but lacks consistency and flip tricks. Can you imagine if momiji and Yumeka skated just a few more basic switch tricks and an extra flip into grind combo and assaulted the course with Pamela’s speed? They’d be insane. Likewise if liz attacked at Pamela’s speed and included some flips into grinds she’d be such a force. The last thing is I think Chloe has them on the run. Yumeka and momiji are my fav to watch evolve but Chloe is only 13 and does stuff like switch flips down 12 stairs. Just imagine Chloe as a grown adult with better style and EVEN MORE switch tricks and flips into / out of grinds. Nothing else matters if these girls don’t at least get to Chloe’s level of switch tricks currently because in future she will just dominate the score boards if she’s bombing switch flips over gaps or even switch flipping a slide or grind. The coach needs to step up the Japanese girls technicality even by degrees, simple as doing not fs tail slide but 270 out. Simple as Liz already has fs big spin and big heels down crazy she should over rotate just a tad and pivot it into a gazelle (540 spin/flip 360 body rotations) Likewise Liz over Rotate the 360s with a pivot into a 540. They can’t afford to stagnate or Chloe will be unbeatable.

@@hansickbeatz9621they always rob the Japanese girls man it’s really like a sick horror movie or something. Like Funa went to sls, got concussed hard cracking her head trying a nose blunt slide where as a 5 foot teenage girl she had to pop to her own hip height just to get onto the rail. She cracked her head so hard she couldn’t skate again thaybckntesy. She comes to a later SLS and lands the nose blunt slide again popping to her hip height just to get on the rail. They give her a 6.9 meanwhile nobody else was nosebluntjng that big rail. Leal beats her by like 0.3 for gold. The look on her face said it all. Like -_- nygah I got concussed trying to mail a trick they then robbed me after finally landing.. And you watch this and they straight up rob Liz. If they didn’t rob these girls so often momiji, Funa and Liz would each have another gold.

Women's skating has gotten so much better in the last couple years. Skyrocketed. I feel like 10 years ago or so it was just starting to take off (prior to that you did have some women skaters, like Elissa Steamer, true, but it was a really small crowd and not very prominent). But then in the last couple years it has just taken off... It's good to see. I enjoy these contests.
@LM-pe3kc Жыл бұрын
yes way better but still got ways to go they also do too many kickflips. I wish in all sports and board games women were on par with men
@Accuratetranslationservices Жыл бұрын
@@LM-pe3kc yeah but if I’m being completely honest I don’t think it will ever be on par with the men. Not just bc the physical advantages but bc more men skate so more talent will be found, and men’s skating will continue to progress too. That said, it would be nice to see the gap close more. I enjoy watching the women’s contests and the men’s contests. I like them for different reasons kind of how some people like watching college basketball even though the more technically proficient nba exists. I like seeing the fundamentals in women’s skating. Tricks that I can do as a skater myself, but on bigger obstacles than I can do them on. Just gives the women’s skating a more relatable vibe in a lot of ways because I can understand what a fs flip is like and imagine what it would be like to do one down an 8 set. With the men, I see some switch biggerheel and it blows my mind and is fun to watch but I know I will never do a trick like that so it’s just not as relatable. I watch the men more for the wow factor
@nissemagazine Жыл бұрын
@@LM-pe3kc "too many kickflips" is also just a competition thing, a lot less riskier than other flip tricks. Like Sean Malto didn't even really do flip tricks at all in his sls runs did he? you'll see all of them doing other things outside 40 second competition runs.
