It all started cause the NISS and ASA PRO TOUR inline contests were doing well on ratings on TV, ESPN thought they needed a slice of that market too, and hence the X-Games were born. Would be nice if they put blading back in the event, I´m sure bladers won´t disapoint

The 1080 california roll is still one of the best tricks in extreme sports imo. iThe way he just floats sideways spread out and then suddenly snaps in and makes the spin happen. It is a perfect mix of style and difficulty.

Most aggressive inline skaters didn't want to take the time to train and practice to compete at the highest levels the look at their craft as a way to travel and party

Mine unfortunately died when i grew out of my blades... That might be the reason why it tapered off. Skateboarding is so easy to just pick up and do for anyone. With blades you have to change shoes and you grow out of them pretty quick if you start young. Plus the level of innovation with skating has just been constant while blading kinda hit a ceiling. Eventually it just got stale for fans.

I started inline skating purely cause of the yasu brothers. Took me years before i could do a a simple backflip in the vert. Nowadays this isnt a xgames sport anymore, but inlining needed a shitload of efford and guts.

Blading could be back in the XGames before we know it. XGames YT channel just celebrated Fabiola Da Silva- the greatest female rollerblader ever imo. Blading is making a huge resurgence with the COVID hiatus. All skate companies were sold out of skates. There is a skate shortage. The influx of capital should get things mainstream again. THERE IS SOOOO MUCH MONEY OUT THERE NOW. Danny Beer who rides for THEM skates is making awesome royalties. Skaters just need a chance for exposure with events... LIKE XGAMES. Razors and USD are doing great things as well. The sport is so much stronger at its core because its mostly OWNED BY BLADERS - FOR BLADERS! The companies now care and with COVID all skate shops sold out worldwide basically. Good luck finding any size 9 or 10 XD. Razors even is making the SHIMA 2's again!!

This is too much for my heartt, I was born too late to be able to witness this all in person. Watching these guys and Fabiola reminds me of y I was so passionate about wanting to master in-line skating in the first place.
