Yes. The Ipoh represents is correct for Ipoh cantonese!! We speak just cantonese in our family we still call traffic light as 'hung luk dang', 'hung ceng dang' sounds weird lol. Really fun video Athena!!
巴殺。。。

Sch chol, thus school.

在怡保学堂和書館都有人讲, 但我聽到的大多数人都讲学堂, 不知道现在的年青人还是不是讲学堂了.

Holy moly, never knew ceng sik (cyan???) is a real thing [sorry, guys, never learnt to read and write Chinese despite begging my father to let me😮💨) Addendum: Sbuject: Cantonese Discrimination in schools Athena: 😳... 🤔 [😁]

Actually these local girls are pretty terrible with their Chinese/mandarin. The distinction between Cyan and green were taught in mandarin primary school, I guess they have forgotten. Not in Cantonese of cause but it was taught.
I'm born and bred in KL, this is how I speak cantonese Green - 青色 = "Ceng Sik" Traffic Light - 紅綠燈 - "Hung Luk Dang" Plastic Bag - 紙袋 - "Zi Doi" (But, I realize after many years, it's wrong. It should be 膠袋 ("Gau Doi"). "Zi Doi" means paper bag which is wrong Money - 錢 - "Cin" (Sometimes, I will use 鐳 but, I think doesn't sound right) Blanket - 氈 - "Zin" Market - "Pasar" (It's not the right cantonese, but, we speak like that for very long already) School - 書館 - "Syu Gun" (We say this since young, but, I think it's not right but, we also understand 學校 (hok haau) just like HK profanity - 粗口 - "Cou Hau" but, I know many people also say 臭話 (Cou Waa) including me sometimes police - 警察 - "Ging caat" but, I know many older generation say mata teacher - 先生 - "Sin Saang" just like HK nurse - actually, we don't know how to say that's why just say "missy" during olden times travel - 去旅行 - "heoi leoi hang" but yes, liu is used because of our parents. dirty - 邋遢 - "laa taat", almost never use 污糟 - "wu zou"

I'm born in KL too Traffic light = 紅綠燈 "hung luk dang". We never say "hung ching dang". Nurse = 護士 "wu si" but last time older generation liked to use "missy" to describe a nurse. Maybe because most of the nurses in government hospitals are non-Chinese. They don't understand Chinese. Dirty = sometimes we call it "laa jar" Pasar is not Cantonese, it's a Malay word, same to Mata & Roti. It should be "kai si" 街市 I know the correct Cantonese pronunciation because I always watch HK dramas & movies since the 80s until now. That's how I learned Hong Kong Cantonese. Straw - 飲管 yam gun (HK), 水草sui chou (MY). I also don't know why Malaysian call it "sui chou"😂 Malaysians speak Cantonese already rojak (mix) with Malay language and other Chinese dialects - Hokkien, Hakka, Teochew etc due to our culture being different from Hong Kong. We can speak 1 sentence rojak in many languages (Chi, Eng & Malay) and other Chinese dialects
