Why doesn’t India have military/government sponsored colleges which will make Indian government get fresh talent in terms of technology? And also, how easy is it to transition between a government job and a private job in India?

These things take 3 decades to fruition. Not overnight success. But govt does have isro funded colleges. I believe India needs more pvt companies. Business ethics in India is about trade not tech. Will you spend a life of individual solitary journey without woman family to life and chase excellence. This is what is lacking in our county. Yogis of entreprenurship is required.

There is a Chinese proverb for India. The head is too big for its body. All I hear is how India should assert itself against China, there isn't anything about China assertiveness against India. All this talk about starting a war with China seems like self harm.

The following article is written by Ismail Bashmori, he is an Egyptian China watcher. The truth is that China is the greatest country on the face of the earth. It makes all other countries look insignificant and contemptible. It is the most brilliant, most industrious, most ambitious, most educated, meritocratic and technocratic, most modern, sophisticated, and civilised, and best-governed by far. . It is the first non-white, non-Western country to reach this status since the 1600s. The determination of this country is indescribable. Supernatural. There is no force that can stop it from accomplishing anything it wants to do. It doesn’t matter who we are. Egyptians, Syrians, Pakistanis, Indians, Africans, even Americans. Next to the Chinese, we are pathetic. We can’t do what they do. We would have a mountain, an Everest of changes to make, and we would whine and bicker and fail at every one of them. China’s story since the 1980s has been one of an almost divine metamorphosis. Next to China the entire Western world from Alaska to New Zealand has stagnated. Next to China the entire developing world from Brazil to Madagascar has progressed only at a crawl. China is the mother of all gargantuan bullet trains. Every day it manages to create something new and astonishing. And unlike the United States, unlike the British Empire, unlike the French, Dutch, Germans, Spanish, Portuguese or any other Western nation that had its turn at being a superpower in the past four centuries, China doesn’t need to run anybody over or take something from somebody else, to rise majestically. China is also standing up to the West all by herself. The West can’t believe their four-hundred-year-old global supremacy is being challenged. They hoped that the more China developed, the more it would submit to their influence, interests, and leadership. That didn’t happen. So now they will do anything possible, short of a nuclear war, to make China end. Their goal is to destroy this country. That’s why, although the United States has killed several million people and turned several regions of the earth into hellscapes. China is the worst fear of our planet’s Western masters. They want you to despise and dread a country that’s done nothing to you, that hasn’t invaded anyone, bombed or sanctioned anyone, that hasn’t overthrown any foreign government, or used its military on anything since 1979. China is the only major country in the nonwhite developing world, to stand up to the West. To look it in the eye when challenged or threatened. The Global South are simply Western puppets who submitted long ago. Even the most powerful ones. Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India. The 1500s-1000s BC were Egypt’s time. Antiquity belonged to the Greeks and Romans. The 1700s belonged to France, and the 1800s to Britain. From 1945 to the present, the world has been under American overlordship. And they call it the Pax Americana but there isn’t much Pax in it. There’s plenty of Pax if you’re in Europe or Australia. But the Middle East? Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Iran and Yemen in the past 20 years. Latin America? They’ve destroyed that part of the world beyond any hope of recovery. Africa? It’s only been spared because of disinterest. The US sees Africa as nothing. The whole West does. But in the twenty-first century, we are witnessing the rise of China. We are decades away from China becoming the greatest power on earth. This will be China’s time, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Attack China all you want, curse her and monger rumours and hysteria - but the truth is that none of your accusations are backed up by evidence. The Western press is under the thumb of Western governments that want to stay on top of the world for eternity. And the truth is that China is not affected by the noise and maneuvers of her enemies. For her first thirty years, from 1949 to 1979, China was basically blockaded and isolated economically and politically by the West. It didn’t even have a seat in the UN General Assembly. And it was dirt-poor in those days, barely a speck of the global economy, a tiny fraction of Japan’s or Germany’s GDP - not even able to prevent famine. And it still didn’t submit to pressure or take any orders. Why on earth would it do that now? China will be the next global power. There’s nothing that can be done about that. The first stage is that its economy only needs to grow at 4.7 percent per year to become the world’s largest by 2035. That means the usual, historical bare-minimum of 6 percent is already overkill. The US can build as many bases as it wants, slap as many sanctions as it wants, recognise whatever bogus genocides it wants. That’s what it’s been doing all along. Has any of it made a difference? China can adapt to any situation. It took China a mere ten years to go from being barred by the US Congress from participating in the “International” Space Station, to building its own Space Station from zero. Above only part of the article, you can read the full article under the following link. www.dailyexpress.com.my/read/4459/west-can-t-believe-nor-accept-china-s-progress/?fbclid=IwAR3aJYSZC3rbUgM1NwHCO73XxnNzNkJPa9wrSsFp-4KMxTozuJiHBwLJDXU

Please don’t overblown your important. China have no desire to develop any special relationship with India nor interested in occupying more of your territories. All China wanted is a friendly relationship that doesn’t turn into war. China is too busy promoting trade with those like minded countries and China doesn’t wish to steer up internal conflict in India like the American always does although they are capable of in so many ways.

Jayadeva has offered a creditable opinion of the present position post the recent elevation of President Xi for a 3rd term of office. I agree with most of what he said; and I wish to offer my suggestion that President Xi will serve his cause better on the Taiwan issue if he makes his plan for the governance of Taiwan under the Government of the Communist Party of China. My reasoning is that it is obvious to all people who cares to understand what President Xi''s plan will likely be in the context of the surrounding circumstances, that he will reunite Taiwan with motherland during his tenure of office. That being the case, China needs to make clear at the earliest opportunity ( I suggest this coming Taipeh city local election)that Taiwan will be governed by the Koumingtang Party and that motherland will enforce this law in 2024 by force if need be !. Make clear that the sovereign government of our motherland has made into LAW that Taiwan will be governed by the Koumintang Party of the original Chaing Kai Shek government. This actions follows the law that exist in Hong Kong after the riots, THAT HONG KONG WILL BE GOVERNED ONLY BY LOYALISTS OF CHINA. My suggestion enables Taiwan people will govern Taiwan but only by Taiwan people who accept their Chinese origin and love of motherland.

India is in a very good place diplomatically. We are strategic partners of both the US and Russia. It doesn't seem as if either of the two nations believe that India will betray one for the other, because of the nature of the relationships. No other nation apart from India is in such a place. During the 1967 skirmish between India and China, it was China, if I am not wrong, who took the initiative to deescalate the clash between the two nations on the ground. They weren't looking for a war. Perhaps, perceptions of the other powerful nations mattered to them, and they weren't in a very strong place diplomatically. Today, they have strained relations with every nation in close proximity, excluding Russia and North Korea, even though they claim some Russian territory to be their own. China has no land dispute with North Korea, but North Korea is wary of the US and it's allies in East Asia, without sharing land borders with them. Perhaps, the North Korean Supremo believes that in another conflict with South Korea, the US will invade North Korea.

To the American India is only a tool for them to use to tickle China. China had reaches a stage whereby they are about to upstage usa position. In fact China had already over taken usa in many area except maybe military. If China wanted to push it military dominance they could have build 3 aircraft carriers group all at once in just 2 years. Today China manufacturing dominance are formidable. But China are not interested to be the world number 1 super power, all they wanted is to be the most happy prosperous nation on earth.

Mr Ranade is a very good observer of Chinas attitude to India. He has said in so many unspoken words that China’s is having 2nd & 3rd thoughts of taking on the USA in the near future, so like all bullies it will take on the weaker country India to “teach everyone a lesson” So India better beware and be prepared for invasion from China in the Himalayas. Since India’s $ 3.5 trillion economy spending is constrained by China 18 trillion & US $ 24 trillion- India must ASAP, swallow its “neutrality” pride, eat humble pie., & work out an update Arms deal with the US to supply Indian Armed Forces with - Military Equipment- not boots on the ground, so the Indian Jawans stand a fighting chance against a well stacked China)Armed Forces. Indian Jawans are second to none in bravery & after arming with US weapons, India in return should promise to open a 2nd front in the Himalayas during a U.S.- Taiwan conflict, where the U.S. does NOT stand a chance ( Korea/Vietnam/ Iraq) without the support of India in the East So India beware & do something soon India- before it is too late- give the Jawans a fighting chance. China having even 2-3% gdp growth is far better than INDIA'S 8% So don't fall for this we want atleast 12% to grow. That is impossible in this corrupt system and mind u bjp has not been able to tackle it even in many cases BJP members are involved. We can't become tool of usa we need our defence industries. And we must focus on submarine and naval kamikaze drones which can target there cities in case they attack ours.

China having 2% is bad for Chinese internal stability. In absolute terms it may be more than India's 8%, but that isn't relevant to China's internal stability, which will be jeopardized by 2% and the relative stagnation. And 12% growth is not possible in today's world with a global economic downturn.

BJP is far far better than Congress who literally almost gave away dolat beg oldie air strip. They are too centered on blood lines and cannot be trusted with Indian union government. Rest of the opposition is divided and leaders have big egos to do any thing good together. BJP is a necessity at this juncture, more than anyone, they represent India and have shown performance. Yes, it can be improved, but I have doubt that switching back to UPA or any other coalition government is a solution.

Thanks for an interesting discussion between Jayadev Ranade and Nitin Gokhale on the future geo strategic course of China under emperor Xi. Mr. Ranade’s observations vis a vis India-China foreign policy issues are astute: -India needs to be assertive on issues of concern, whether on the border issue ( EAM Jaishankar has been forthright about the imperative of resolving border issues for bilateral relations to improve), -speaking out against the ‘Han’-ization of the Tibetan identity, language and culture ( it’s ironic that China battled colonialism and imperialism only to impose its own form of cultural imperialism on other minorities), -reducing the bilateral trade deficit with China by slashing non essential imports - quickening the pace of indigenous defense production - strengthening India’s maritime advantages, etc India must stand firm against Chinese hegemony. The geo strategic effect of yielding to Chinese belligerence would be detrimental to democracy and freedom in the whole region-South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Since India is taking an “India first” policy and not trying to be part of any bloc, it should not hope for support from anyone if there is a conflict with China. Without a doubt China will again want to “ Teach India a lesson” Mr Ranade is right. Yes we must say upfront has mentioned the issues that we should take up internationally. I said this before we need to get more aggressive towards China. We need to start now. The BJP & Modi have been the past congress for Chinas aggression against India after 1947-when India has to worry about Indias disintegration after Partition, States Reorganization problems, RSS & HM Sabha dividing the County with its Hindutva rhetoric . Today the situation is different also with regard to our Armed Forces. So the BJP & Modi now have to show the County what they are doing with China in occupation of Indian territories in the Himalayas & Aksai Chine & claims the whole of Our Arunachal Pradesh as theirs. Can Modi/ BJP be aggressive with the Chinese & get them back to our border with Autonomous Tibet or will they start making excuses like the Congress Party? After Xi’s statement about getting back what the perceive as their Territory- that means war with India, Now the BJP & Modi can show India & the Chinese how tough they can be. Or under the new circumstances allow the revitalized Congress to do so “ if they can get their act together” Sydney Jerome Desouza- A Goan Indian American who feels India should show more spine if they are to be taken seriously by the world

@Sydney Desouza why u bring Hindu religion here? It’s the militant conversion of Christian missionaries that is causing trouble everywhere. We selected Modiji and we trust him and his cabinet minister fully. All countries have internal problems of their own. It’s not the right time for India to wage a war. We are on good economic growth and we won’t spoil it.But if there is a threat to India’s sovereignty, then we will teach China a good lesson. Congress is finished in India because it went out of our cultural identity. The real Indian heritage and civilisation and cultural are dharmic Hindu. That’s y the west cannot understand India because they think Hindu is just religion. The west and US cannot come close in relation with India as Russia does because west fails to understand the essence of India.

@Sydney Desouza RSS is Hindu and Hindu is RSS . What’s wrong with Christians? It’s everyone’s wish to follow any religion. But damaging their ancestral identity and traditions and believing in another faith blindly and disrespecting their own country’s birth religions shows that there is something wrong in those foreign religions. Suppose if I become a Christian or a muslim, I will feel happy on seeing Hindus and I think atleast Hindus are keeping my ancestral religion and Indian cultural alive. But what I see is that many abrahamic religious followers , see Hindus as someone dirty.it’s time to do introspection of abrahamic religious followers.

Well presented pointers of Chinese intentions drawn fm inference of the CCP session just concluded: a) the time line to reclaim all territories claimed by China ( incl Arunachal & Ladakh) b) the clear political aim of winning “local wars” ( ie. Against India, seizung the Japanese Islands of Senkaku, & occupying Taiwan). India should Forget everything else: Politics, Foreign policy, etc are just motions of display. Unless India is able to Militarily “defeat” China, the Dragon cannot be tamed or stopped. To achieve victory, India Needs to increase immediate aquisitions of weapon platforms in large numbers: Fighter aircraft, airlift capability, missiles, artillery, nuke subs etc & scale up production & aquisition to hv military assets in requiste numbers that make a material difference on the ground. Present initiatives of Govt of India for atmanirbhar is commendable but lacks scale of numbers & needs to be expedited. Moreover any Thought of reducing Army’s manpower be put on Hold & max troops & fmns be deployed in forward locations for quick action/ reaction & avoid time loss for mobilisation. ⚓️⚔️🇮🇳

Great insight from Mr. Ranade. If ccp thinks it is a 1000 lb gorilla, they don't want a 500 lb gorilla (India) slowly becoming 600,700 lb.... competitor. xi want to be the regional hegemon, does not want India to be strong. I feel he may go in for a brutal but short skirmish with India, not to test India but to test his own sissy troops, whether they have what it takes to take on Taiwan, when it has the world's support. He would not care if ~2000 PLA troops die, but would be more interested in the PLA's conduct, ability to fight, integration among the services, units etc. He will use this as a trial / test run to test the mettle of his own troops and pla Generals. Remember he is going to be living in his own echo chamber( like Putin),from now on since he is the all powerful one man show after the 20th congress. He is smart enough not to trust what his generals tell him and be misled by them like Putin. He is likely to challenge his generals say by 2026-2027 for a short hot war with India and ask them to prove themselves in battle, before taking on Taiwan.

Agree with his fears, not quite with his advertizing the punitive action part. Agree with blocking low tech Chinese products. Infact thats the lowest hanging fruit. Agree with raising Tibet but India must first of all say India shares border with Tibet and not with China. Think India should take 'on ground' action for sure and there must be abolition of 'no first use' policy for aggressors. Also take over some 'so called Chinese' land and de-han-ify it. If China calls for talks, threaten with nukes or block their entry into Indian ocean through Malacca strait. Also for their Spy ship, sink it with a missile and say it was a missile test that failed and hit their ship.
