Xiamen Air's B787 Surprise Theme Flight

I flew with Xiamen Air from Amsterdam to Xiamen, China. My flight was operated by a B787-9 in special "In Support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals" livery.
I used KLM New Crown Lounge before flight. During my flight, I was surprised by all the sustainable theme and tips decorated on the overhead bins. Xiamen Air support United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This is a video review of the latest Xiamen Air's inflight product. I was introduced to some of the new features such as sommelier, tea service and a library on-board.
It is nearly Christmas time, so I brought some Christmas decoration and helped the crew to decorate up the trolley to surprise and make the flight more memorable. It was nice to see the smile on the littler traveler's face!

I've flown Xiamen Airlines many times domestically in China (I recognized that approach, shame it's always so hazy). Xiamen is my second favorite domestic airline in China behind Cathay Dragon. Xiamen Air is definitely underrated and I would consider them as an international carrier in the future, thanks for sharing!

Wow, Xiamen seems to be a great airline! I recently flew the A350 to Beijing with Air China, and despite all the negative comments I read, I had a great flight and really appreciated the good service and overall efficiency. If China will become more accessible in terms of visa accessibility (I had a 144h visa on arrival), I am sure they will easily become the favorite destination of travellers. Those Chinese Airlines like Xiamen Air, Sichuan Airlines or Juneyao Air should really become a skytrax five star airlines. They host their customers with Chinese hospitality and they really do give their best so that all passengers can feel well. Unlike Lufthansa, they paid to become a fake 5 star airlines with their bad product and weird service. Well done Sam and Xiamen Air!

Xiamen was my introduction to China in July of 1999, via Xiamen Airlines and Gao Qi airport. I worked there for a year as my last project with Eastmen Kodak. Eventually I bought a condo there and lived in the Siming district from 2006-2009. About 1km. Nanputou Temple. My favorite place in China during the 10 years I lived there. Wo hen Xiang Xiamen!

I have had 2 round trips to MEL and I'm impressed how narrow the seat was on their 787-8. Their service to MEL has been heavily traveled but ideally isn't the first choice. Apart from the hardware, their ground service was yet the best. Having talked to the check-in staff at MEL, I learned that the ground service was actually handled by Dnata with no MF staff on-site. Luggage allowance of 23kg *2 would be handy for passengers traveling ECON class

It is nice to see all these business class reviews and I know you covered economy class briefly but it is not a true indicator of an Airline as most people cannot afford to fly Business or 1st class. Are the advertising on the overhead bins temporary just for this special livery aircraft? I ask because to me they give the J-class cabin the feel of an LCC. I am also not a fan of leather upholstery since they do not breathe well but admittedly are easier to clean.

Hahahahah, very interesting! As a Chinese, we read 厦门 as Xiamen in Mandarin. But as a local in Xiamen, they prefer to read it as Amony by using the local dialect. So if you come to Xiamen, China one day, you may hear the broading calls are in 3 language, Chinese, English, and local dialect😂😂😂😂
