Despite his short comings, I truly believe that Raimundo deserved to be leader because he has shown to posses the characteristics of being one. While I love all the xiaolin warriors, Omi couldn't be leader due to his ego and sense of superiority over his friends. He might've trained the longest of the 4 but there's more to being a leader than being the best Martial artist. Kimiko might've had a great brain and a lot of her Ideas have been helpful to the monks( ex. using her fire for the ropes of darkness showdown) but she has been rather reckless and short tempered and screwed up during these moments. Clay unfortunately was the most under develop of the warriors and what little we did see indicated that he served better as a voice of reason rather than a leader

If u watched the second last episode, even as an old man, he was leading the monks and young omi as well till his death. During the damsel showdown, he was the one who chose who to be tagged in, thus knowing who is suitable for certain tasks which is also important as a leader to know your teammates’s strengths and weaknesses. Being one to make unorthodox plans, having the most knowledge on certain info( Shen Yi Bu, Combining wu) He has been through one of the most hardships of the three (turning evil on his own accord and choice and choosing good all the same, being the last for apprentice, facing his doubts to catch up with his team ) Also, he would even sacrifice himself to drink the Dragon heylin Soup, shoeing his guts and determination to win, even if it means turning evil) and also that his personality is VERY similar to Dashi So yeah, props to Rai And respect to Omi for accepting and being proud of his Friend, even tho we all know he wanted to be leader more than anyone

After everything Raimundo did,it's do revarding to see him be chosen as the leader.On my opinion he was already the leader through this final 2 episodes. He managed to think up a strategy to save the world and repair everything Omi fucked up,took the initiative and never gave up even when it looked like it was hopeless,was willing to sacrifice himself so the others will have a chance to fight,took on the 4 strongest enemyes they could have ever faced,protecting Kimiko when they ganged up on her and WON,then he let Omi be the one who takes the victory of the showdown. He earned his right to be the leader.And he is a good leader as well.We can tell from what we have seen.

I'm not surprised it was Rai. I hate how Omi keeps thinking he's the best and it should be him. He's always been like that even though he does care for his friends and works along them. Also, I hate how most of the showdowns consist of Omi. Even in the ending (thought the music and fireworks were awesome), it made it look like he won and did most of the work. Honestly, that last move was his only move in the last showdown where as Rai did most of the fighting (as he got most of the bruises). Also, Rai is the smartest. He knows the right showdowns to make. That studying in the beginning really helped. He knows what he's doing.

AWESOME total nostalgia bomb with this episode. I used to be real pissed that Raimundo beat Omi in the end, but I think I'm okay with it now that I'm older and can recognize his talent. He jumped in without hesitation and beat back 4 of the series' most powerful villains by himself. And then Omi FROZE THE MOUNTAIN AS IT WAS COLLAPSING WTFAWESOMEASHELL It's a shame you don't hear people having fond memories of such a fantastic show.

Raimundo takes charge and he pretty much did all the hard work in eliminating all of their opponents. Omi just landed the finishing touch. So of cos Rai shld be chosen.

Raimundo is by far the one who evolved the most among the 4. And c'mon!!! In the end he SINGLE-HANDLEDLY beat up the 4 most powerful villians, and pass the won match for Omi to finish, because he just wanted the win, not the glory. He totally deserves it and I'm so happy that the series chose this and not the cliche of "the face of the series gets it all". ... ... (And we don't talk about Chronicles, that also SINGLE-HANDLEDLY fucked up all the development of all the characters in 1 episode)

Good times, honestly it got me when Rai become leader, it was unexpected and I loved how they did that! :) I wish for a season 4; the storylines are so epic and unique, I don't see much shows with that much creativity yet classic storyline!

Nobody expected rai to be chosen as leader back in the day. The kid's dark, shady and rebellious than most teens, but he has shown great qualities of a leader. He learned from his mistakes and grew as a person, going from a arrogant kid. To someone who can be proud to have not just as a leader, but a good friend too.

Took until the final scene, but Omi was FINALLY taught a lesson in humility. Omi is far and away the best fighter out of the monks, but at the same time, he showed that out of everyone, he had arguably the worst leadership skills.

Honestly watching all 4 seasons again makes me realize this show is just as good as avatar, having raimundo actually being a zuko-ish character if you think about it. And honestly, i used to feel the ending being unfinished and sub par but now grow to realize they need an entire charactee arc(except for clay). Omi started as an obnoxious sexist egotistic boy to a guy who shows respect and acceptance that even a non monk can become a true warrior. He grew up learning to accept defeat and hopefully learn not to mess with time i guess. While raimundo was low key awesome, from the first time raimundo found exploits in a showdown even omi doesn't know to actually gain advantage. To risking his life to defend master fung from mala mala jung, he was a bit savage and rude sometimes but he definitely grew to be mature and being not so reckless. This ending totally make sense given omi being too ambitious and almost caused a catastrophe

They way I see it , Raimondo had the qualities to lead, as did Omi, except Rai was more level headed. However, Omi has the qualities to be the greastest xialoin dragon among the four, as Dashi had surmised that Omi would one day rise to be a grand master xialin dragon. However, although, Omi maybe the main character, I like how show humbles him by not allowing him to get his way, like most main protaginist end up doing in a story. Naruto a big example.

Richard Ransom You can't pick the leader based on favouritism, that's what I like about the ending.Rai was the perfect candidate as he is the most mature one at the end and him going to the dark side made his experience grow all the more which mean he has the sufficient experience and knowledge as in omi's case he's still a ball of ego, he's a great warrior when push comes to shove but not a leader cuz a leader has to be mature and actually know when they have to admit defeat which Omi is still having trouble doing.

Omi still has much more to learn. Rai's momentary switch taught him a lot more about what it truly means to fight for good and to be a leader. Omi, despite being a genuinely good person, still has a superiority complex. He still looks down on others even if unintentionally. This massive ego is the last thing a leader needs. A leader needs to inspire, build up his followers, and be someone they're willing to go into battle with. Omi can't do that when he looks down on his followers. Yes, Rai was evil. Yes, this can show inconsistency and disloyalty. However, they're final adventure should have redeemed him and showed where his heart truly lies. Even as an old man he gave his life to save the world. For decades he could have flipped again but didn't. That shows that any inconsistency and disloyalty that could be there is pretty much gone. Rai's stay with evil also humbled him a lot more. At first he was similar to Omi in that he himself had a massive ego. Now that's been checked. He no longer views himself as the most important part of the team. He values everyone on the team. He learned the most from his mistakes and understands how easily a person can fall. Omi's a good guy and has grown a lot too, but he's still the same ego driven but lovable character we met in episode one. Which shows a slow growth compared to Rai.
