People always seem to have extremely positive reactions to me as a white guy speaking African languages, and I love connecting with people in this way, so I’ve been spending the last three months studying Yoruba and Igbo, both Nigerian languages, and in this video I visit a Nigerian neighborhood in New Jersey to test out my language skills. Yes. When my family moved to Switzerland they learned German and integrated with their way of life. I was born there and grew up speaking high Germans and also Swiss German. And due to the way we confirmed to their rules, for example the ‘quiet hour’ at lunch, no washing on Sundays etc and just generally their lifestyle, now living back in England it really grinds me gears when people move here and don’t even try to conform in any way, you do see this a lot in the Muslim community. Ofcourse not EVERYONE is like that. But they form their own communities not speaking to the English at allZ
