I am expecting the Vivo to dominate in most scenarios since it has been optimized and also has the Zeiss T* Coating which helps with maintaining properly exposed highlights. Selfie video and human portrait mode need a lot of work on the Xiaomi but with time those issues will be resolved. The Xiaomi has poor dynamic range and weaker stabilization in videos on the selfie camera.

Congratulation for 2000 premiere viewer Han Vivo X70 Pro+ as expect will dominating Xiaomi 12 Pro on Ultrawide & Tele lens, also surprised how the Selfie's cam improved a lot although the stabilization is still poor, Nightmode wise still nothing beat X70 Pro+ yet, probably we need Xiaomi 12 Ultra to challenge. On the other hand Xiaomi 12 Pro is still still still very good or sometimes impressive considering the price, especially the main camera, IMX707 does a great job fought neck n neck in daytime photo that only comes down to personal preference, nightmode & indoor is impressive too although when there's a strong light hitting the lens zeiss t* on Vivo really comes in handy, the Lowlight video is also impressive on Xiaomi. Overall there's no hesitation that Vivo X70 Pro+ is still the winner but Xiaomi 12 Pro could be amazing option for camera centrict phone if it get software update to improve the camera performance. Vivo is basically the only Chinese mainstream brand I've never tried. I feel though for cameras (now that Huawei is restricted) they are the most interesting brand. They have developed their own stabilisation system and their own ISP. It's good to see that they are introducing some of their own tech. I think that to differentiate at the top level brands need to have some of their own tech or own unique features. To be worthy of spending a lot of money I feel flagships should have something unique to offer. Fair play to Vivo for doing this

Agreed, Vivo is doing how every brands should do, flagship phone should have some kind of differentitation, some unique & great feature. Also how the product's exclusive packaging is also still impressed me, while other brand give "discount" on packaging by saying enviromental friendly bullsh** that force user to buy charger seperatedly and charger also come in another box & plastic😂. My only wish is beside Vivo is undoubtedly very innovative, i hope they also realised that they should leave their Habit on the selfie camera for flagship phone, only has 1080p video recording etc etc although it already improved on last update but still lags behind in flagship territory, and the good haptic & stereo speaker that not available on X70 & X70 Pro, i know their not the top flagship but still high end afterall

In my opinion, the Vivo's biggest bottleneck compared to the Xiaomi 12 Pro is the the Samsung GN1 sensor. It's almost 2 years old and it's not as good as the Sony IMX706 in the Xiaomi. The besser lens and software saves the Vivo a bit, but the darker it gets the worse it performs. It's a bit visible that the Vivo had to smooth out more noise, hence worse detail. In 9:21 you can see that there is less detail in beautiful Nancy's hair. But overall, I have to give it to the Vivo. If they only would use a better front camera. Vivo should just use the IMX663 of their portrait camera also as a selfie camera.

As I expected it, Vivo X70 Pro+ completely destroyed Xiaomi 12 Pro! I mean Xiaomi did good in some conditions and wasn't that far behind. But Vivo was better in every segment in some significantly that's why it is a massive win from Vivo for me! Now let's wait for Xiaomi 12 Ultra and see what happens!

I mean the Xiaomi definitely will improve and will come closer to Vivo X70 Pro+ with software improvements, but Vivo has an advantage with the quad camera, ois on all 4 cameras and with Zeiss t* coating compared to Xiaomi Pro 12 and as Vivo beats the Xiaomi in every category and in some by a mile so I can't see how the Xiaomi 12 Pro could beat the Vivo X70 Pro+

Anyways. I actually expected this result but that front camera of the vivo really improved!!! I remember the front camera looking like xiaomi 12 performance in this video. As always vivo really is the better device overall there are only two segments in which I think xiaomi is tied with vivo which is the nighttime video and that daytime photos(I prefer the vivos) as I see that some people prefer the color tone of the xiaomis. Great performance of the vivo as always!

They listen to user who want more-beautifull-than-reality look. Most of these brands wont change the selfie camera "Characteristic"

Iam a Xiaomi user and i can say you are right, there's some area like Selfie, Portrait and nightmode (for midrange phone) where Xiaomi stock camera processing sucks
