Does this abide with FAA no-fly zones/geofencing? i do real estate videos and the Mavic air two won't take off when there's an airport 5 miles away. geofencing actually believes that planes fly treetop level 4-5miles away on a neighborhood, SMH!

Hi Dustin, I've owned the FIMI X8 for over a week now and am very impressed with this drone. You can see my KZbin videos for reference. The FIMI X8 does not have forward side or rear sensors at all. It only has a bottom facing sonar sensor for landing. However this drone is so much fun to fly, super agile and responsive. I've owned the Mavic Pro and have an Autel Evo, and this drone is far more fun to fly. The intelligent modes all work ok. The camera will need a future firmware update as the default factory camera auto settings for the contrast and colour saturation are set too high. Long battery life of approx 25+ minutes. It doesn't have the whistle noise coming from the X3 or Mi drone propellers. Firmware updates are very easy, a prompt comes up on app screen, and downloads straight off the web onto your mobile device/controller. No need to directly download onto an SD card like the X3. Yes it will be a solid competitor against the Mavic Pro (mk 1) and/or Mavic Air. It is definitely no match against the higher quality Mavic 2's or Autel Evo with their superior cameras. However value for money this drone is unbeatable !!!!! I have a friend with a Phantom 4 Pro and after flying the X8, he now wants to purchase an X8 as his backup, due to being so impressed.

Thanks Ross. I was deceived when seeing the front visor and glancing at Xiaomi's site for the X8 where I thought I saw a picture of forward sensors detecting objects. Looks like it was a picture for it's position lock and says it uses the regular front camera also😂. I had it up last night for 25mins and got to 20% on battery cycle 2.

I have a Mavic Pro Alpine White (actually two, long story) and this is all strangely familiar. What we need to know is whether it can use Mavic accessories such as props, it looks like it might. 33 minute flight time and 5 km range really need testing, and there's nobody else we trust to test them properly.

I hope u set the wb to a different setting because every video i seen on this drone it has a bad blueish tint , but it flys great and has along flight time , i think fimi can fix the color in a firmware update, i like fimi and hope they go far.

You say the x8 has forward fronting obstical avoidance but it doesn't that little star wars sensor does nothing at the moment. Fimi said on facebook there might be x8 pro or different models with different features possibly OA. Great review. FYI "X" in Chinese is pronounced Sh, so Shaomi, not Zaomi. They now own Segway and also produce all the rental scooters for Bird and Lime that you may see in your city. Now that they have tested the waters and entered the Drone market, you can bet on them upping their game and competing heavily with DJI.

The correct bind procedure is to turn the controller first and then the drone, that's why you could not connect the first time.

Dustin I've had mines for 3 days now and wait until you fly this thing a few times. "FOR THE MONEY" $384 (if you did the Pre-order) its a great drone. I have all the DJI toys MP2 P4P+ EVO ETC but for the money this is a excellent drone and very quiet. I only got 2.5 miles out with it but had no worries about it coming home. Also Xiaomi fixed the low battery drone slowing down thing they had on their last MI drone. Once again For The Money get this is a freakin good drone. I even think this drone may make some EVO buyers think twice. No extra battery's or propellers are available yet that I can find. Looking forward to your review. camera does struggle a little in freezing temps

Whats the big deal with a huge range !!!! No one should be flying outside visual line of sight. If you do, One, you pose a risk to 3rd party property damage or personal injury and Two, you risk losing your drone due to endless reasons. Yet alone a breach of drone legal requirements whilst flying in your country.

I fly my MP2 and M2Zoom and P4P+ the full 5 fives one way everyday 10 miles RT for the fun of it but only over open space or water. I'm not a movie maker or anything like. I just enjoy the tech in these things and what they can do and controlling something that far out. Never over people!

Hi Dustin I bought FIMI 2022 and while setting up I noticed the bottom heatsink was very very hot in just less than 5min, I can't touch it any longer. Also it makes a constant rattling noise. Is this just normal? Thanks for your thoughts.
