I'd expect around a month but I think it's worth the wait and they'll have improved it with more updates by then. When you get it make sure you charge everything and update to most recent 👍. Also Update notices will not appear unless an SD card is in drone.

If I remember right I have read that precision landing only works if you point your gimbal straight downwards. Maybe you try this the next time... But always like your videos... Keep doing them

I agree Dustin for the money it's a great drone if you can get @ the $400 range. I still love my Mavic 2"s but for a kick around fun no worry flying drone this is a good one. Next X8'2 I'm sure will have a better camera. I'm still getting over 5500m with this thing and 23 minutes+ in the air.

Hi and thanks for your great reviews! As it's still hard to get Fimi X8 it's really helpful to see some videos about it. I just want to ask you to test one mode that no one tested on X8 yet. Panorama shooting. Can it create a full 360/180 degree photosphere? That'll be interesting to know. Also, specs says that the lens is F/2.2 but EXIF data says it's F/2.8 - can you please confirm which one is correct? Thanks!

Spiral doesn't only go up but out also so start closer. And what really made me curious and made me buy it was the waypoint flight with multiple poi's programmed. One pic in the presale add suggested that possibility. Mine will be shipped 27th of February, hopefully..... Edit: it's the pic on their website that says: " more powerful flight planning shooting".

Yes if money is an issue, this drone is worth taking a look at. The image quality looked good which in my book is the main deal. For 500 bucks its the real deal. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford the dji series, but this drone will certainly show well in this price market.

Hey Dustin, I've watched both of your videos start to end and would like to thank you for amazing work and in depth information. I'm really thinking about getting this drone, but there's one thing which I'm wondering how works - what happens when the drone gets out of range of controller? (Either interference, or empty battery on controller). Does it RTH, does it stop, or does it continue in last direction (what cheap chinese drones used to do). Does it re-pair once you got back in range?

Hey Dustin, yes the blue tint and blue flicker is gone, doesn’t look over saturated like some drones. Looks like all the special function work with no issues with the app. The precision landing is not very good. My Spark lands within 6” of where it took off not 5’. Over all looks like a promising drone and a promising brand going forward. I guess they learned there lesson with the Mi drone which had a lot of glitches in the beginning. Great review as always. 🤙

I did MANY P.L. with my X8 and it was allways right on the H. Yesterday the wind was blowing crazy blowing the X8 sideways and all my PLs was bad! To get good PLs: 1) Use a orange or blue drone landing pad. 2) Do auto take off with the button.. 3) Let the x8 complete the auto take off to 4m above ground. 4) let it hover a few seconds and fly away. 5) Use RTH to return and land on the pad. BTW. If strong wind is blowing during take off, expect a "bad" landing :)

Not 100% sure but for precise landing flip the camera down (by pulling down on the small joystick) and it will distinguish the H on the pad and adjust itself a bit better. That looked like a GPS only landing to me which has that amount of error.

Definitely better then the spark but price range and quality it's about the same as the anafi but I still think I'd get it over the Anafi because of the strange glitches with the Anafi.

The manual makes a cryptic reference to flight plans being stored in the "Favorites" folder, yet I could not locate that folder anywhere in the Fimi Nav 2020 menus. The start of the orbit when it's going slower and smoother looks like an AC130 circling on a target location! Very cool, not sure if I would go for this drone over a mavic pro or pro 2 though even for the price. The build quality just looks a little cheap (in comparison)

Without a side by side it looks about the same to me. There was a blue tinge in the X8 but it looks like they are updating to take care of it.

Don't know why so many have problems with the PL function. I did many tests now and 99% of the time the X8 land right in the H of the landing pad. Even after a 4km one-way flight the drone land right back on the H.

I use a 9000mA battery plugged in to the controller and never charge the controller anymore. The backup battery keep it fully charge all the time. Just put the backup batt in your pocket and via USB cable keep the controller charges. IT WORKS!!!!

why always ignore, info, tips on low battery, for the first time at 27%, then 15% and 10%. ??? ..therefore, from 21:10-26:47 min.=5.37 minutes flight, after the first warning (27%),.. unnecessary ! Voice color is a secondary thing, according to the information it provides, or... I remember, for a while, when you testing Mi 4K, you left the battery under 10%, though it could permanently hurt the battery and trigger safe operation (FW).Landing advice is certainly for good reason...Anyway, a good test, detailed, apart from a couple of details ..

I've done a few videos on both. You'll need to make that call for yourself after being presented the truth on how it functions in my reviews 👍. Size, smart functions and flight time are the main differences you'll need to choose from.

Congrats. Open the FIMI Navi app at home on your WiFi, scroll to the location you'll be flying on the map so it pulls in the map desired and zoom in and out so it caches (saves) automatically. When you fly without WiFi it will auto load that map area you saw on your screen initially at home 👍

This drone is a great competitor. I think it's nicely refined. BUT! if I'm choosing between this or dji spark, definitely this, lets be real it's definitely better than the spark. This is at least on Mavic air level. But if I had to choose only one between this and the ANAFI I'd definitely go Anafi, 525 on Amazon prime. The anafi is so hard to ignore. It's so small and Portable and all its modes work flawlessly and the smoothess and it has a few features I wish were in the Autel Evo. But yeah this fimi is nice though. To me the top drones overall are Evo and anafi meaning best bank for your buck. The Evo now is 999 at best buy, comes with the bag and 2 batteries so 3 altogether, a 100 dollar best buy gift card, and shutter fly.
