njshift Many cameras are labeled with 4K but the sensor size and stabilization differences might be huge. I saw video comparing mi camera to mavic pro 4k... I liked the mi more (every person would have his own opinion so you can check it yourself)... I haven't seen one comparing it to phantom 3 pro but I expect it to be better

P4 is a nicer rig but it comes at a cost of $900. Easily double the Xiaomi. If you’re on a budget nothing even comes close to the features of the Xiaomi 4K.

This is Stunning you can do this for so little money... Amazing video Andy looks really professional. The Mi 4K is amazing for the price. Was not that long ago the only way to get video like that was own your own Helicopter. This is so tempting was saving up for a Nikon COOLPIX P900 or a IR Scope as i like photography/night sky etc ... But But !!!

That's something you don't see a lot of ... 2 UAVs shooting each other. I think a more fair price comparison would be between the Xiaomi MI and the DJI P3 Standard 4K .. more similar in specs, and equal in price or perhaps the P3S 4K is a bit cheaper. For me, the DJI product has been proven over a very long time, while this latest MI product still has a lot of proving to do .. at least for me, given what the 1st release was like. Very cool shots. You were lucky to have such good weather and a buddy to fly with to get that video. Cheers!

Color can easily be corrected, while lack of the details, muddy image cannot be corrected. Phantom 4 wins hands down.

The MI drone is currently on sale on thier site for aprox $430 dollars US. I'm thinking of getting one even though I am new to flying drones. I bought the Contixo F18 to train on, but the video freezes at 50 meters up or out when it's suppose to have a 700 meter range! I'm hoping they will work with me as I have read some bad reviews on many drone companies CSR. So far they have been good, but the video issue is new as I was learning to fly it without the camera as it was distracting me, but now that I know I can fly it out of my range of vision having the video working would be much nicer to use then the RTH button. Thanks for the review.. :)

+Lordxv just the pitch the same as the phantom no real need for yaw as you use the copter to achieve the same result and the gimbal dampens the yaw also

Here in Norway I can get the Phantom 3 for a little less than the MI. Even though the Phantom 3 is not 4K, what would you think would be the better choise? It seems like the MI blows out the highlights quite easily or is it the same on the Phantom?

the p3 does not have the range 4k or optical stable. Iin the mi's price range there are no competitors in my eyes. Maybe a second hand discontinued p4 would be next. I cant comment on the yuneeq products as i dont have one. Hope that helps cheers.

I am a DOP, I looked the video on a 5k display and I think the camera must be very similar, it might be the same sensor, the dji is a bit more saturated and sharp but it is only software added and it can be replicate and adjust to taste in post on the Mi footage. Because of it's lack of software alteration I find that the Mi gives a better image, that is also more suited for professional use. Even price aside, as a professional and by seing this exemple, I would go for the Mi. That said, I would need to see more test and know more about how much control we can have on the gamma, bitrate and other video parameter on each drone before giving a final opinion.

theres a lot more parameters on the dji all you have is EV correction on the MI, the bitrate is 60mbit and cannot be adjusted

I am about to buy my first real drone (until now I ve had the jjrc h37). I am in love with the spark because of its small size, the flying capabilities, the hand control and the app that transmits photos and videos live on social media. On the downsides, it has very small flying time (about 12-15 minutes at best) and a price of 699 dollars. On the other hand I am impressed with the 4K video of the xiaomi compared with the 1080p30f of the spark, the range and the flying time which is pretty close even to the p4p and all that for about 425 dollars (currently on gearbest). Tough desicion, can anyone help me out with an opinion?

yes it does fit, thanks :) I'm really hesitating whether I should get this. I come from FPV racing, and I want to get me a 4K photography drone. I would get the Mavic, but it's too expensive. A phantom is pretty much out of question as it is very unportable. The Mi drone seems what i was looking for, as you can detach the gimbal and fold the legs. However, does it really produce great image quality? No jello, vibrations, whatsoever? Does it allow you to shoot raw, ungraded footage, so you can manually grade your footage in post? The video quality needs to be as good as on the Mavic, otherwise I think 500 bucks is still too much money.

This Xiaomi drone looks amazing and the app that controls your investment has good reviews. The DJI Go app has some of the worst reviews on both play stores. You could buy 4 Xiaomi drones for the price of 1 P4P. Dustin and DroneCamps have favorable reviews as well. Look out DJI, here comes the Apple of China - Xiaomi. The colors seem much better on the Xiaomi as well. The stability is equal to a P4P. I don't know about you but for $400, the Xiaomi blows DJI out of the water. On top of that, the gimbal and camera are both removable. This is a no brainer in my book. No wonder they're getting harder to keep in stock.

DJI its like renting, all those snooping updates and pre-programmed no fly zones its not like its your own. They disabled aftermarket batteries on the Phantom3 at one time. No its like Apple and Android to me and I'm a Fandroid.
