Personally I like this phone because it has the potential to be a phone that doesn't require a new case every time the owner decides they want to give it a new look; you could just put a clear case on it (however that might work, I'm still figuring this one out myself) and then have the back be always on before setting a rear view wallpaper (with some anti aliasing and possibly an 80% pitch black wallpaper to save battery). Personally I think it'd look pretty cool seeing phones with animated backs on them, though I guess the one drawback would be the potential for hackers to put rude pictures or messages on the rear of the phone whilst the user is making a call.

This phone actually brings memories back from when phones were fun. Not all of them were necessarily practical, but they were "cool" in their way. I just love seeing how many people comes up to say a concept thing "is shit". Companies such as Apple and Samsung don't delve into this realm because it's much easier to just design something the "market" wants. Coming up with a concept though is completely different, pushing their technologies is something we aren't necessarily seeing. All of them for the past few generations have mostly been chipset changes with very minor differences besides performance.

If they could make the rear display matte finish & have a real protective coating that drops wouldnt break it, then the real advantage of having that display would be that you customise the back of your phone to look like anything you want. Like having infinite phone cases. All other use cases (except for a single camera unit for selfie & shooting), you mentioned in the video can be achieved by just swiping up from bottom in the current versions of all phones

I'd take this over a Samsung folding phone. I don't see the practicality for a folding tablet really. The new Motorola Razr on the other hand, yes, dunno it just appeals to me more than the Samsung fold lol, but this on the other hand is a great concept, just lacking in execution in my opinion

My screen size is perfect for typing (Huawei P10 Lite), and I usually find myself typing a lot, and essays won't be an issue, because to me this feels like quite the perfect size. I'd say for drawing apps a larger screen size in that case would be great, and maybe for some of those more productive apps I guess. My phone for me is just for social media, watching KZbin, and listening to music. But yeah, this price tag is way beyond what I'd spend on a phone. For me personally I'd love to have some of those specs, cuz I mean having a responsive phone is great, and for the most part my P10 Lite works well, and I've had it longer than any other phone, but that's cuz to me it still feels quite relative for my usage, and don't need anything fancier, although I love tech, but practically speaking even $600+ is an overspend in my opinion. I paid like $350 for my phone, and it works lol. Can't replace that anytime soon, so yeah. But I enjoy seeing where tech goes nonetheless, even if it gets somewhat impractical, but I believe there is a niche market out there for something specific for sure

If it gains traction, we can even do touch gestures without covering the screen with our fingers-like imagine scrolling KZbin videos without covering the progress bar with our finger.
