Is it possible that the pole is upside down or something, I haven't used mine in table mode but it should work

@@ThatCapeTownGuy i am not sure if you misunderstood my previous question but the fan does not work as per description in my previous comment rather when there is a power failure(unplug from socket and plug back in) the fan turns off and stays off after the power comes back and you have to press the power button to get it spinning which is not what i wanted. Hope takealot will take it back )-:

Yeah I mightve returned it unnecessary I got a new replacement and it's still there- after close examination and holding the fan in various positions etc it seems to be the buttons - maybe more so on the lite version - the buttons are quite hollow and are vibrating with the fan - the fan speed button seems to be the culprit on mine - I simply put some tape lightly across it to keep the button in place and the rattling is gone and it's whisper quiet now 👍🏽 shap shap

I think the only thing you cannot control from your smartphone is the vertical angle adjustment? So it blows up or down instead of straight-on? Cheers!

I'd say its more or less the same. But because once can control it from the phone, you can set the level you want, schedule as well as use the breeze mode for less noise.
