I agree with you, I also trust in the opinion of Dave2D and mrwhosetheboss, but with Ben we see a real daily use of it, he don't try to make the product more appealing, in the end of the day we are talking about phones, and tablets, piece of glass and metal, not about a carrer, a person or a choice in life, thesr techs today are getting more space in our lives and our time than it should, we as human, are simply a different kind of apes, who surely is more adapted to hunt than work in a chair 8h-12h per day....

You sir, have just gained a sub. This review was exactly what I needed to know as an artist. I usually do my art in traditional mediums, but I have been enjoying using the pc for digital art with a graphic tablet. I've been interested in getting an android or apple tablet for using outdoors as I tend to draw a lot in nature, but I didn't want to spend a lot and realise it wasn't for me or lacked something I expected. This does seem like a reasonable price to dip my toes in and get familiar with the experience, add another tool to my kit. So I know what I'm treating myself with haha. Really appreciate this review, I do hope they improve mouse support for gestures or add a trackpad to a second gen keyboard, otherwise it seems fine. I have two questions though, for gaming, is it possible to use keyboard and mouse much like PC (WASD and keymapping)? Is it a suitable device for someone to use for video editing if it was their only option? The second question isn't for me, just a useful thing some people might like to know. Thanks again and sorry for the long ass comment haha

Hi, video editing is fine if you don’t push it too hard. But you can’t use mouse and keyboard together to game as far as I know. The mouse input only shows up on homescreen not within apps

Back in the day, Google decided to release Honeycomb which focused on tablets. I think they need to go back to that mindset and have a slightly different approach to tablets for the UI experience. That's what I envy iPads for with their iPadOS. But seeing how the price difference is, Xiaomi's Pad 5 is hard to ignore as an accessory that you can use. I want to test myself in creating documents for work using only a tablet without a keyboard. I know it's not the best but I'd like to use a tablet more for touch.

I can accept no sim card and use it in wi fi but no 3.5 mm jack not acceptable they forcing use Bluetooth headset which is don't last much because of the battery drain or you can use usb to 3.5 mm jack means you can't charge your tablet at the same time using the headset which is so annoying

So theres only one position when using the keyboard so that the pins contact each other. So a bluetooth keyboard can provide more positions/viewing angle.

In my opinion Huawei Matepad 11 is better in terms of durability and software. In terms of software it runs Harmony OS and provides seamless connectivity, if you are into Huawei ecosystem. In terms of durability, Huawei seems to have better quality checks such that you do not need to go to a service center throughout its lifespan.

I've been swinging back and forth between apple gen 9 ipad and this one ... But I think I made my mind now, Xiaomi is the one to go then. 1st mostly I am an Android person, so switching to a Apple device (especially one with lightning port) seem a bit hard to swallow. 2nd rather than working device, I am seeing myself will mostly watch vids and reading then noting stuffs ... So, I believe Pad 5 can definitely serve me better (with its screen). On the top of that, getting full set of Pad5 still cheaper than Ipad set Lastly, longer and stable SW updating is definitely a great thing to have. However, 2-3 years is enough with one device and probably I will get a new one by then. So, even if Xiaomi fail me with their SW update policy, then that will not last so long. So... I am willing to take the risk.

I think if you're into drawing stuff then go with the IPad. Not really my favorite but I have to admit that Apple devices are hell of long lasting and stable OS ones. In my case, I got quite a few android and windows stuffs (2 phones, 1 laptop and 1 desktop) around me already so an IPad just dont fit with the gang

Hi, china version doesn't have android out of the box but you can install it yourself easily. After that it should be similar. Except china version may have some Chinese apps or Chinese text in there that can't be removed. But only small amount.

I intend to buy it for academic purposes. Academies in my educational stream provide their custom made software for classes which are available only for Android, iOS sucks in that. I am all in for the iPad but just because what I mentioned earlier I have to buy Mi Pad otherwise the entire utility of iPad will be zero.
