HyperOS for pad 6 aren't optimized yet good thing i did not update and stayed on MUI14 as for the heat that you are mentioning are completely normal considering that pad 6 is running 144hz refresh rate and a flagship chipset Don't worry too much about it specially when gaming and watching high quality videos since it uses the chipset as it should be

Bought this last week (7 July 2024). Decided not to update to Android 14, as I think all entry level and mid range Android devices are best optimised for the software versions they come with. But after a week of using, Xiaomi Pad 6 simply seems like a cheat code. Was skeptical at first and even thought of cancelling the order and going for a Samsung Tab S9 with EMI payments. I could not have been more wrong. After using some Github hacks to remove the bloatware and some system apps (like Google, Assistant, and Chrome) and installing open source alternatives like Cromite, and alternating the default launcher with Nova Launcher Prime, this device just flies through everything I might need. Have abandoned my M1 MacBook completely for basic writing and chat related activity.

And my iPad 8th gen doesn't come anywhere near the screen and speaker quality. Had an iPad 9th gen too for some time, but the experience on Xiaomi Pad 6 with Atmos is just something else. Might be that the base iPad 10 and higher ups offer better sound, but for just INR 19,000 this device is simply beyond everything I have experienced in the Android space. Even my iPhone 13 seems sluggish now because of the refresh rate thingy which I hadn't noticed before switching to a high refresh rate device. iPhone 16 here I come.

@@senthilkumarkpr It has gotten Android 14, not sure about Android 15. I have not updated to HyperOS, using Android 13 with MIUI 14. Which is pretty smooth. I don't think updating it is worth the risk. Android updates do not add anything major nowadays anyway. Fancy features like customisations etc. are mostly useless, the apps should run smooth, which happens fine on Android 13.

@@inugasuki553 Buy Xiaomi but do not update to new Android. Samsung S9 FE processor and RAM are not up to the mark. If your main use is reading and videos, this is the best there is. Samsung just costs extra for features we never really use. I bought an iPad with Apple Pencil, and never really used them because the most general use cases for tablets are either reading or watching videos. Even gaming is tedious because your arms will go numb after a while. But again, I would highly recommend not updating to Hyper OS. Just update your apps and you are good to go. Android 13 is a good enough OS, and there is nothing much that 14 or 15 is going to offer in my opinion. I believe these OS updates are overhyped and meant for slowing down perfectly functional devices. I literally want to roll back to iOS 15 for my iPhone, but Apple is smarter than Google, the don't allow it. Meh.

Dont buy this tablet, it will work for a few months until the clarity drops to SD in netflix and prime. Yes it has got a huge widevine certificate issue. You need to update certificate and reboot the device every 2 days to watch the content in HD. It just downgrades itself from L1 to L3 within 2 days. No permanent solution for this issue.

If you don't care about the build quality and how the pad feels go for the iPad. The cpu is a bit better. On the other hand my fiance went to a store and compared the two tablets and said that the iPad 10 feels cheap in comparison. Also, the mi pad 6 has laminated display while the iPad 10 doesn't. You have to see them side by side. Also, the sound quality is better on the mi pad 6. If you don't care about all that and your main priority is to edit then the iPad is a better choice I guess.

Don't buy this tablet, there is one huge issue related to widevine going on with this tablet. Every 2 days you need to update the widevine certificate and reboot the device to watch Netflix and prime in HD. Go for other brands.
