Sadly that depends on the device you want to connect to, some have that option, some don't. I'm usually connected to the extender.

yes, once its set up you can move it around. It just needs to be plugged in to the power outlet.

Nope, once set up it will be like that till you decide to get it back to factory settings. So no setting up each time :)

Hello people! It came to my attention some of you have issues with signing in to the Mi Home app. There are several different options to do so, but I purposely left all of them except the Mi Account one. This is the best way to do it as you won't give out any of your personal stuff like phone number or so, you'll need only your email address to create one, and you can do it following the link: global.account.xiaomi.com/pass/register Once you created your Mi account you can sign in to Mi home app using the details you selected for yourself(email and password). Yes the same password you have for your home router. This item serves just as an extender so it uses existing network stuff. Its not a standalone router which has its own passwords and stuff.

@@MaoMeow11111 You should have a small sticker on the bottom of your router, there should be 2 things: SSID( basically the name of the router) and the Password... That password is what you use to connect the extender to it and your phone to extender

Try repeating the proces, if it doesn't work there might have been some changes in the setup compared to the one we had. We had no issues connecting the device doing exactly what was shown in the video. The device automatically connected from first try, and that was recorded here.

Not sure, never tried that with hidden SSID. Probably the smartest move would be to unhide it if you plan on connecting it to a router as it may not connect if the SSID is hidden, as it has nothing to find and connect to.

I'm very pleased with it.It's been almost a year since I bought it and set it up. So far I had no issues with it. I managed to connect it in first try and that one was recorded and shown in this video. Signal is strong - I'm having almost the exact speed ( 20mbit is my maximum speed and trough this it pulls around 18 mbits) on WiFi as I do connected trough a cable. I'm not sure about the maximum distance it can cover but mine is around 10-15 meters, haven't measured it to be honest, just an estimation, from the router and 2 walls away.I have full signal both on my laptop and my smartphone. I'm not saying this is the best device out there but for the money it does what it needs to do. I've recommended it to a bunch of people I know in real life as well as online and it works okay. Some have managed to get it to work in first try some had some problems but after finally setting it up it just works.Only thing that might be a different version of the app used. I've not tried the new one with mine. I literally deleted the app when this was set up and it's been running no problem since. If you're from EU, and by your name ( greek) Id say you are, you can select in purchase the one with EU adapter. Mine came with it.

What if you turn off the extender and your main wifi and you turn it ON again. Will it connect automatically? Or you have to connect it again using the app? Cause that would be such an hassle.

It depends really, some devices like phones autodetect stronger signals and connect to those. Some laptops require manual switching beforehand. In my case i just switch manually - literally 2 seconds for that.

Once you go trough the procedure shown in the video you connect to it same way as you would connect to a standalone router. There's no need to set it up with other phone or device once it's set up - you go trough that only once.

You can use it. Just connect it to your router. You have to have an active Internet connection to be able to use it. This is just an extender not a stand alone router.

This extends and in same boosts your connection. The same connection can be used for your PC, laptop, or phone. As long as its connected to your router it will use the home wifi.

The master router, this is not a router on its own. This is just a tool to extend the wifi network, and as such it uses the settings from the master router.

Normally wifi speed is around 20mbits, but since my studio is ways off from the router the speed was 2-3 mbits. When I installed this I get around 17-18mbits which is quite better than without it. I get almost full speed.

but something bothers me coz i asked the seller of this mi wifi pro in our local area. He said that it must be used with router only. Cannot be used with wifi dongle.

@@ianjaballa5017 This works as a wifi extender, it is connected directly to the router via wifi as it extends ur home wifi to a certain amount. I dont see why you wouldn't be able to connect to it. With the dongle you should have the option to choose to what you want to connect, to it or to router providing the primary connection.I don't see why that should be a problem.

@@rjrsumatra i've not tested it that far. Mine was originally around 15meters from the router worked okay, not great but okay. Now its around 5 meters away and this seems to be best. Thing is this isn't a sort of device that will give you a full coverage if you have a huge house, or your backyard or something like that. This is enough to give enough signal strenght in lets say a medium sized 3 bedroom apartment.

It should use the same password your router has, that's the only way to connect to it, as it doesn't have its own. Well, the entire process should be done on the phone, only the initial plugging in to the power outlet is something done without it.

Doduse nije niti bio dostupan kad sam kupovao extender iz videa. Na kraju ako ti odgovara nacin na koji ga mislis koristit slobodno mozes uzeti i njega. Do sad nisam imao losih iskustava sa hardverom od Xiaomija tako da vjerujem da bi i ovaj proizvod trebao biti u redu. ( koristim njihov telefon, pametnu narukvicu, bt zvucnik i extender )

Nope, max I would put it away from the router would be 8-10 meters. But even that may be much, this is a consumer not commercial kind of a device.

Hi! I can't connect my laptop to the wifi repeater. Well, technically it is already connected but it says no internet connection. When I diagnosed the problem, it says the "'Wi-Fi' doesn't have a valid IP configuration" What to do, sir? I am not really tech savy. Badly needs help. :'(

I actually followed this set up process, but it wasn't completed like in the video but the repeater was just set up.. I don't know what's wrong. It's working on my phone, but not for my laptop.

@@rhonastaana4032 Try to reset the repeater to the factory settings, and follow the steps. If the problem persists it might be a problem with your laptop, since your phone does connect to it.I recorded this in one try doing the steps just like in the video. Still had no problems with it so diagnosing without a problem is kind of hard :D

@ZENBOX I tried to search for some steps in the internet, and one told me to change some settings through the command prompt, and I think it worked. Now my laptop can already connect. Now, my other concern is that when I was setting up the repeater, I wasn't able to complete the whole process but the repeater just showed up as a network with the same name to the original network +_plus on its name. Now, the repeater is working but it doesn't appear to be connected on my Mi Home app that's why I don't have any controls on it. 🤦

My repeater doesnt have a yellow light. Mine is orange and doesnt change even after reset. I just opened mine 30 mins ago. I set mainland china as region and allow location settings. I dont know whats wrong with light.

I've not tried it for gaming. My PC is connected to Internet via cable. I installed this just so I can boost wifi coverage for my phone in my studio.

Yes it will, if the wifi is open and not password protected it should work no worries, you'll skip the password step in the setup.

@@lightcyanblue wifi card is a device used to connect your pc to a wifi network. Most desktop PCs come without it so you might have to buy it.

Upravo su mi stigla dva komada, na jednom kutija malo oštećena ali čini se da je sve ok s njima. Imam problema sa spajanjem na mrežu, sve ok s koracima Device connected, Message sent to device, ali nikako Connecting to network timed out. Probao sam s regijama i Europe, i China Mainland, i Other. Doma imam A1 Homebox, Alcatel router. Za potrebe spajanja sam ovaj repeater uštekao dva metra od routera međutim bez uspjeha... Imaš kakvu ideju kako da ovo riješim? Hvala

Isprike na kasnom odgovoru, prehlada me uhvatila pa nisam dolazio. Naime i moj je dosao malo "našutan" - kutija malo izudarana ali sam uređaj je bio ok. E sad što se tvog problema tiče, prvo što bih i sam napravio je factory reset čisto da eliminiraš potencijalne probleme, a onda prati korake iz videa. Moj je proradio doslovce iz prvog pokušaja - a taj je snimljen na videu. I od onda nisam imao problema. Prilično je teško problem dijagnosticirati i riješiti kad ih nisam imao. Mainland China ti je jedino gdje se repeater pojavljuje - barem je meni bio. I prilikom instalacije se automatski prikazao i spojio, poslije toga nisam dirao ništa. Evo ga i dalje radi :)

Resetirao sam repeater nekoliko puta, ili misliš da resetiram i svoj router? Malo me čudi jer su recenzije vrlo pozitivne, evo i tebi radi, a ja imam dva komada s istim problemom. Probao sam i na poslu, isto se događa...

@@psycrokiller Pokušaj još jednom, znači izbriši aplikaciju s mobitela, resetiraj repeater i ponovi postupak. Ukoliko ne uspiješ kontaktiraj sellera odakle si kupio i reklamiraj, vrlo je moguće da imas defektne primjerke.

I have not seen that option, nor I can see the reason why to hide it. If you hide it what will you connect to? Your laptop and smartphone would autodetect it once in range when it's visible, if it wasn't they would not have nothing to connect to. And there's no point in hiding it as it's password protected like the router it's connected to.
