It's only meant to showcase their new Electric-powered engine technology which is a fully modular design that can be fitted on to any platform/chassis. Their main business model is licensing the technology to vehicle manufacturers which will enable them to incorporate it into their current E-cars to save costs and improve performance; or allow other manufacturers to design new E-cars around this technology. They have no plans to become another Tesla. (summarized from an interview with the CEO in Taiwan)

It is interesting that it is in Taiwan but has no number plates so must not be registered. I thought Taiwan rules for importing at least were mostly about the emissions etc. Can it be registered here? Oh, just saw the price. I don't think anyone in Taiwan wants to buy a car that looks like that for such a price.
@ericyuhlin48264 жыл бұрын
may be because it is built in Taiwan, so typical importing rules don't apply?
@naguoning4 жыл бұрын
@@ericyuhlin4826 you can import almost anything if for parts/not road use. The question is can it be licensed. My mistake I am wondering if it can be licensed regardless of where produced. I live in Taiwan but have never seen one of these and I have seen many cars that are very rare here by license numbers (eg Ariel atom, Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, Morgans, Lancia Delta, an old Holden...).
@ericyuhlin48264 жыл бұрын
@@naguoning yes, that was what I meant, prototyping R&D, and approval, registration are totally different processes. Also, the name of XING is rather interesting.... quite unusual for a Taiwanese company and spelling.

@@ericyuhlin4826 YES! Xing is HanYu PinYin, like what is usually used in China and Singapore to transliterate. That said some KMT controlled city governments have adopted it.

I don't believe Einstein made that statement. If you improve the aerodynamics of the car it has a much better chance commercially. I would highly recommend making it a complete car and making sure that the design is aesthetically pleasing because that is hugely important commercially. I would also choose a different name. Do focus groups.

Definitely needs work in the aesthetics department. Hire someone who knows what they are doing in that regard, because atm nobody will take this thing seriously looking like a billy cart.

Their main business model is licensing this new modular design to vehicle manufacturers so they can save costs and improve performance. They have no plans to mass produce E-cars to be another Tesla. Besides, this is a prototype meant for gathering data to further improve their design, not to appeal to anyone.
