I was taught by professor Li de yin of beijing university. My style is almost exactly the same. The difference do not matter. This is good xingyi.

What inspired me to xingyi Quan was I have a book of martial legends by c.s tang....the story of yue fei legend and an intro of xingyi philosophy I also have a great reference book by c.s tang called the mysterious power of xingyi Quan ...this goes through the full history of the development of the art with a great amount of knowledge on the benefits of each fist I recommend it ...for it aroused my interest from going from years of wing chun and muk Jon practice I wanted something different actually I think I could transition between wing chun and xingyi during practice I've had good results so far eg by-jong to Santi stance... straight punches to a xinyi fist etc

Wing Chun guy here too, Xing yi has similarities with Wing Chun but its uniqueness is its power generation method. Beng Quan works like Newton's 1st law, suddenly stopping a moving object with the leg posting downwards + dan tian.

I don't think Di Guoyong does the wrist turn on the pull back in his Beng Quan video. Is the turn still his main way of practicing?
@MuShinMartialCulture3 жыл бұрын
Those videos of his are extremely limited in scope for obvious reasons. What I show is what I learnt from studying with him directly for over a decade already, and even what I show is only the beginning aspects to the practices as there are far too many details to cover in short video format, some aspects are only introduced later as well

I don't really practice xingyiquan but am interested, so can I ask a question: what is the difference between Beng Quan and Pao Quan? Because i see it kinda similar
@MuShinMartialCulture5 ай бұрын
Hi. in terms of the fist striking out, it is similar to Beng quan, however, with the relationship between the two arms as well as the zig zag step and the closing and opening of the upper body, it has different vectors compared to beng

What sounds do one make when executing the 5 elements? Thx
@MuShinMartialCulture Жыл бұрын
In Hebei Xingyi there is no requirement for specific sounds, but you must breath naturally inhaling and exhaling correctly and appropriately to assist with power generation
