Just want to give you guys a shout out for the awesome videos explaining the ins and outs of TSM. I have mine setup using your profile settings and it has truly been a game changer for me, so THANK YOU so much. I raise my glass to your time continuing efforts to share your knowledge with the masses! Cheers!

Words can't express how intelligent you both are. I spent an hour training myself how to make groups/custom groups from watching your other video. Now I am training myself to use TSM to post/cancel scan items. I might start with basic posting price for my enchants as they are low risk if I screw up until I get comfortable with them and then step up to custom pricing. I need this since shift clicking items from bag to auctioning 600+ times is beyond the bed, bath, and beyond section of tedious.
@Firebyrd117 жыл бұрын
That was very helpful. I've been using fixed pricing for years, but prices on the transmog gear I sell have started fluctuating so much it hasn't been working right for a while. Glad to have some new tools to fix the problems I've been experiencing!
@arnab.8 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely brilliant. The thought process behind pricing is very carefully explained, which I think is the key. This I feel is actually better than giving people price strings since they usually need customization by realm which people would mostly not go on to do. Hope you make another one on resets and relationships too. Thanks for all the work!!

Thanks so much, it's hard to to accommodate the beginner without confusing them and keeping it helpful and useful for more advanced users. Glad you think I pulled it off.

Where it all starts, I guess! The video is a bit older but by far the most useful I found, this morning I also found your Reddit post about transmog, but this was too far into the lecture of understanding strings. Thank you so much, for your work making free lectures and open source documents! My question is, there is a tooltip called "market value +blabla%, could you also implement it to the auction operation? Like if its above then do this, when its below a certain %, then do this. Is it possible?

I've been using TSM for a few months now, so I wont say I'm an expert by any means but I have to give you a shout out for this video, your pricing methods are really brilliantly explained not just saying use this string but going in depth it allows me to not just reproduce a pricing but develop my own that works for me. So again thank you for this, I do look forward to more of these informative videos from you.

What have you been using for buying and selling? I have been switching mine up a lot and not really seeing any improvements.
@kevinm24118 жыл бұрын
Before i been using mostly crafting, but i use max(crafting, dbmarket) with some moderate success soo far changing around the % of the dbmarket while still ensuring i dont make a loss. Its difficult when stuff sells for less than crafting though. I havent gone that in depth in testing out the averages and all that, but i guess it depends on how things are on your server, also the most important thing to me so far seems to be what time of the day you post more so than the string you are using lol
@Xionik12348 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kevin for the kind words earlier. If something is selling at less than crafting cost, then really look into the crafting cost of that particular item. Someone may have just jacked up the price of an item and it could be throwing things off. You can easily force a price on any item if the value tsm is using is way off because of sketchy people. Type /tsm, go to crafting, them click on the materials tab, then type the name of the item in the search box, then delete whats in the pop up box and force a manual price for that item so it corrects the crafting cost. I use this feature a lot. I jack up prices of some items to make other people's tsm look like something isn't profitable when it really is. So when you see something that isn't profitable but you think it should be, look deeper and fix it. We often craft things for far less than what tsm considers the crafting cost.
@kevinm24118 жыл бұрын
Thanks that's really good advice! going to put that to use now :)

Loved the video, thank you very much for taking the time to teach us! I do have a question. I like to sell Glyphs. I see you were using this for your minimum value: first(125% avgbuy, 125% crafting). I found the market settling and that I need to tweak things. I was going to use this formula for my minimum value: max(106% crafting, 20% dbmarket). I had a chat with the TSM folks in their IRC channel, and BilisOnyxia pointed out "I personally wouldn't reference anything but Crafting for my minimum price" "if a glyph has a DBMarket value of 500g but it only costs you 10g to craft it, using your formula you wouldn't post yours below 100g". So with that nugget of wisdom, I switched to something like this: 105% Crafting / 0.95. Using all three formulas listed does not really change the minimum posting price all that much. Very hard to nail down what the best for me is in this case.
@Xionik12348 жыл бұрын
That was an old operation, the most recent Legion one references crafting. I force it to look at crafting first, and then for those people who can't craft it and only flip glyphs, I had to have an operation that worked for those people. So if they can't craft it, it will then look at market value. Personally I would only use crafting myself but I have to keep in mind the various type of AH players and make sure the operations are as useful as they can be for the most amount of people.

Hi, I was wondering how can I check the peak auction times for my server. I tried using TheUnderMine Journal but I haven't found anything on there. Thanks!
@Xionik12348 жыл бұрын
Usually it's the evening time for what would be evening time for most of the players on that server. Many people are at work and school during the day times, so the most common time people play/raid is the evening, it's the best time to undercut on the AH and get lots of sales. Sometimes afternoons can be ok, though overnights are usually slow.
@likemike94058 жыл бұрын
So you would say that the best time to post would be early afternoon then on weekdays because evening is when most people play?

So bit of a problem here. After installing Legion BOE epics string it seems that whenever I try to load another group it wants me to replace something. Which is no big deal but after I hit replace it just sits there. I skipped making a raw mats group as well as loading the other LEgion BOE groups (Leech and non Leech) since I also wasn't sure what the difference was. If you could get back to me on this that would be appreciated.

Any idea why my food is not getting added to the queue, I am using your operations, "Crafting 40 (50s Minimum Profit)", TSM shows Azshari Salad (rank 3) as 710g profit, yet it doesnt get added, I am sure I dont have any food on my inv, happens with all foods, basically only a few get added.

Two things I'm struggling with: 1.) Selling bind on equip Armor, Weapons etc. for reasonable prices. I don't know what operation is right for selling these kinds of items so I just put them up manually but this is time consuming. 2.) How do you cancel all of your undercut auctions? I can only seem to do it one at a time...that can't be right.
@Xionik12347 жыл бұрын
Cheap crappy items, just use dbmarket to sell them. Once you get to rare expensive items, I think you should use some combination of your server and region or just region prices as it is more stable and more resistance to market manipulation and prevents you from selling very valuable items too cheap. To cancel, just select the group(s) that include the items you want to do a cancel scan on, or you can use cancel all if that works, or you can use the filters to cancel. Up to you.

So, I want to sell a huge amount of herbs on AH, since making flasks would be a loss. My DBMarket price for each herb is Starlight Rose x1 = 68g (now 60g) Dreamleaf x1 = 24g-36g (now 20g) Aethril x1 = 26g-31g (now 20g) Foxflower x1 = 29g-55g (now 20g) Fjarnskaggl x1 = 27g-51g (now 20g) I still want to sell them for the normal price, so, what would be the best Operation to do this ? althought it's very well explained and actually clear, my brain just can't do anything with the information, lol (having some brain issues) I could tell TSM a fixed price, for example 70g on starlight rose, but then I would end up not being able to sell anything. So, I need an average of the eu prices and an average of my server price to make up the perfect price to sell each herb. I do understand that, using 100% dbmarket will put the herb for 100% the current price on AH, but that means, if for example Starlight Rose was 68g on my server, and the market price dropped to 30g, I would sell Starlight Rose as the current 30g, which then is a loss of 38g, right ? So, what would be the perfect operation for this ?

Do you have any videos on "building walls" (@ 27:38)?
@Xionik12347 жыл бұрын
Building walls is douchy behaviour, sure I do it all the time, but I'll leave that up to you to sort out the finer details. Just make 5 operations at slightly increasing increments/prices. Then if you want to raise your douchiness, make multiple TSM profiles to continue the wall on to really drive people crazy. Expect some hate mails.
@pirate11976 жыл бұрын
Oh my I guess I trained myself on how to build walls. I use the multiple operations list to sell varying sized stacks of dyes, threads, etc from 200. Biggest stacks are cheapest and they go up in price the smaller the stacks. Singles are the most expensive.

Hello Sheyrah, i just recently started using your TSM group and your auction operations since i was too lazy doing it myself. However, i got this problem with items like Starlight roses and some Enchanting scrolls they are valued to high. Starlight example is Market Value 31g and region 28g but my TSM Auctioning says min: 72g, normal: 141g and max: 354g - What causes this? Does it have something to do with avgbuy and that i bought the item for a high price long ago?

How do you deal with Flask and pot prices? In my server flasks and pots sell for way less than the crafting cost because of the lvl 3 procs. How would I be able to implement this in my pricing?
@Xionik12348 жыл бұрын
I only make things that are profitable. If something isn't profitable on a particular day, I ignore it and check back the next day. If you spread yourself into a lot of markets, you will not be very affected by the occasional individual market that is not profitable. If you want to figure out the proc rate, just make a bunch of a particular flask, 100, 500, or 1000, whatever seems reasonable to you and see how many extra you get after making them, then you know your proc chance and then incorporate that into your pricing. I haven't gotten to this one yet. Working on a lot of data from other professions atm.

How can i change my bid price from my buyout price... so say i want to set my bid price to 1copper less than the lowest item on my server and set my buyout price to DBmarket how can i do this... or can i even do this... because for anyone NOT using an Auction addon will see my auction first as the "lowest item" but the buyout price will be market value
@Xionik12348 жыл бұрын
TSM doesn't let you do this.

@Fringetastic8 жыл бұрын
You can make the bid price be different from the buyout price: In Auctioning Operations, under Posting Price Settings there is a slide bar named "Bid Percent". However, you can't do the kind of operation you describe. I typically have it set to 97% because of the sorting you mention. (My minimum prices are also higher than Xionik's, so a bidder still wouldn't get an item below my cost.)

I'm pretty anal about organization and your groups made me go from 6 to midnight! Question about your Shopping List - Raw Mats group (and your crafting work flow)... do you even use the tsm gather function or are you always buying up crafting mats under a certain threshold? b) If the latter, do you resell mats from this same TSM Group? If so, are you using a Keep count to ensure you dont just resell all your mats?
@Xionik12348 жыл бұрын
I generally don't sell raw mats, I just buy them frequently with the shopping operations or plain tsm open searches in the shopping tab. I had to include selling them in the operations for those people who gather and flip raw mats but I personally don't do much of that. Honestly a lot of my mats do come from the gathering tab. When I set up my crafting queues and I see I'm out of a particular mat, I don't really like that situation so I usually buy way more than I need so I'm not stuck for the next few times I do my crafting queues, assuming they are a decent price. If they are really expensive, I'll wait and try to get some extra mats next time. I don't use the keep count unless I notice I have way too much of something.

Hey, i am using your groups but when i post mats they only post in stacks of one. How can i change that?
@westganton7 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue, not sure if the groups didn't import correctly or what. I ended up creating a new operation based on "Avgbuy, Market Value Stack 10 x 1 (24hr)". I just duplicated a couple of new operations for 50x2, 100x5, and 200x8. Since I'm not really interested in the crafting setup of TSM, this works well for me. Check out 27:18 of this video and she explains how to set this up.

Thank you, I really enjoyed this video. It makes me want to go and re-check all those formulas to set them up again. Im new to this gold making, but was just wondering what is the state of proffesion to make gold. (Im enchanter and JC, use to be good in Cata. I just got back to the game) My question is because I see that usually mats sell better than the final product, and with the ranks on each of the crafts, im scared to start producing things to sell. Should I stick to selling mats? would it be a good idea to make the products? I understand that with this formulas, it doesnt matter which product im doing it will be save to sell with profit, I guess i will just be doing more profit with a higher rank?

So selling rules should be diff rent for •herbalism collected materials. And mining materials ? For example.
@Xionik12347 жыл бұрын
Current expansion herbs and ore should have similar operations, using avgbuy if you are flipping, dbmarket if you are farming. Many current expansion materials are high turnover, they have more competition, so you have to be more competitive if you want to sell. If you post this stuff at region prices, you will most of the time be a sad panda, it's not going to sell well, if it all. These items sell very quickly and the amount of profit is usually small but the volume of materials you are selling will make up for it. Anything like that will need to be posted in this way (avgbuy, dbmarket). Now once you get to more rare items, that move more slowly, transmog, pets, mounts, etc, you will probably want to use more stable numbers like region or even global. Rarer items are more difficult to accumulate in large volumes, so you want to make sure you get the most out of the sale. Even if someone post it low on your server, you probably will want to ignore that, wait and let it sell, then sell yours are a much higher profit. Using region for rare items will be much more beneficial to you than using dbmarket.

ok so I went to github.com/tehmufifnman/tsm_imports got got all the groups I need. so now now I'm alil lost on the operations being blank on them for example " legion BoE Epic Cloak" group has nothing on operations. You Said You have them on your alt website pastebin.com/u/Sheyrah_Alternative. so I open my operations tab and have a lot of opersations. would Legion BoEs be the same 1 to use on each legion bow sub group and what about the rest like non legion boes
@Xionik12347 жыл бұрын
Legion BOEs should be fine, You should consider making 3 different shopping operations. One for the 110s which would have a lower minimum price (ex 50% region or market) for shopping since that market is kinda terrible right now and possibly set it not to include on sniper searches. The regular 101s you could get away with a much higher minimum price (ex 70-80% region or market) since that market is much better and set that to include in sniper searches. And the 101 leech items, well you can put a pretty high minimum price there like 90% region or market since those items are crazy amazing for making gold, even 2-3% profit is huge at those leech values.
