It's crazy, right? I remember being super impressed with how he built a whole huge dungeon! And now look at DO2 and this just feels so tiny and almost quaint, haha. (Not that DO1 isn't impressive still - it absolutely is - just referring to the size difference, that's all)

I still don't think mojang did a great job with wardens. It feels like they were trying to build them for decked out 2, to bring decked out to vanilla, but they made wardens too hard to use creatively, so they only work in the one prescribed way

No wonder Beast Sense was infinitely more useful back then. With all these tight spaces and 2 wide corridors with 90 degree corners you always ran into the risk of turning a corner right into a ravager with no good way of kiting them. Incredible how Decked Out went even further since then.

I remember watching every stream of tango building this game, and thought it was the largest game ive ever seen created in vanilla survival minecraft. And then tango talkin about DO2 was gonna be 2 levels and twice as big. Had me super intrigued. 2 seasons later he builds 4 levels of massiveness.

Now that’s some serious nostalgia, Tango has gone a LONG WAY in building style, DO1 had this massive feel to it, but comparatively? Absolutely amazing how much better he’s made the whole thing. It’s more cohesive now, and I do like the removal of more common enemies. Unrelated to DO2, but let’s be honest here, the redstone spaghetti of DO1 is PURE ART.

I started watching Hermit Craft in Season 8 so never saw this. This looks pretty good, but Decked Out 2 is so much more visually amazing and the armor stand magic definitely polishes things off. I am amazed how much Tango has come along as a builder.

The original decked out really did feel man made, whereas DO2 genuinely feels natural and real. I love it SO MUCH. This really shows me how much tango has improved decked out!

This brings me back, I didn't see Xs runs, Season 7 was the first season I watched and I started the season just watching Mumbo since I'd just recently found his channel, then Grian because I'd seen a few of his videos then Grian visited Ethos base so I started watching Etho then started watching Keralis because I'd see his Cities in Ethos videos, then from Keralis watched Cleo because her armor stand magic and Zoo, then started watching BDubs towards the tail end but those are the only one I watched which meant watched 100s of hours of Etho and Keralis play Decked Out 1

This was such a trip! Man, does DO2 make DO look small. During Tango's livestreams of building DO2 he'd often say how small and simple DO was and I'd feel personally attacked (/hj) because I loved DO so much. But watching again now after all this time I see exactly what he meant. I think my favourite part of this compilation was you dropping everything and NOT opening the door to the Black Market xD

I'm not sure the ravager recycler system was really working reliably, it was kind of a hack put in at the last minute to try to resolve the problem.

i find it very interesting the improvements in game design!! the opening entrance is a excellent case study of this, providing a interesting off the bat 2 path choice, while also making it so if a ravager is spawn camping... your not STUFFED.

The old game really was very different to the new one; and might even have been slightly harder at times! The narrow corridors made luring ravagers difficult and made it easy for vex to kill you, and the lack of zoning meant that the ravagers could technically block all the exits.
