That was the whole reason he created derpcoin. He intended it to be a fiat currency the whole type and was a comment on a lot of the crypto currency scams that are going on in the world.

For the 'A Furious Cocktail' achievement, you can ask Zedaph to help you out. He even got Tango to get this while Tango was AFK.

I was thinking too that some people these achievements could be gotten with Zedaph's assistants and it would be a good way for Zedaph to complete the diamond beacon in exchange for the shards

@@sav7300 Doc build a contraption that basically accelerates an arrow to 3000 blocks per tick, allowing it to travel through solid blocks and hit a certain spot. Anything that stands there basically gets deleted 🙂

@@Daniel-rd6st the 3000 blocks per tick isnt why it travels through solid blocks, thats because it glitches off of an enderman in a minecart, allowing it to phase through everything for 1 tick

Yes I was thinking the same thing! And also some more chaos that was caused by fishing rods in the same episode 😆 You can find both “incidents” in either Grian, Smallishbeans or Ethoslab's 4th episode of Double life if you don't want to watch the whole thing, though I highly recommend the whole series!

Do fishing rods pull stacks or just single items? If they pull stacks, you'd also want to target the ones closer to the center (where multiple scaffolding stack together). You could also have a mechanic where you can drag other players off their pressure plates and make gathering more difficult for a little bit.

Pretty much any throwable/shootable item gets your velocity added to it when you right click. Also arrow damage is based on the arrow's velocity, so the combination of these two things was how Scar could one-shot Xisuma.

This is the episode (and moment in my life) when i realised that hermits technically are able to make their own music band, with X on guitar and Impulse on drums. Stil a lot to learn i guess

mini game idea with fishing rods: Teams try to see the max height they can fishing rod a hermit and the hermit has to get onto a platform which is worth a certain number of points. Maybe the teams cycle which team member is being hooked and you cycle through each team member to get a total number of points

Hey X, you can shear the bottom of the hanging vines to stop them from growing down instead of using string to stop them. Believe that mechanic was added in 1.18 or 1.19.

Hilarious episode. Love watching Hermits discovering stuff they didn't know was in the game! I learned about the monster fishing pole mechanics when they managed to accidentally finish off a Warden during the Double Life series, whilst trying to drag it up a cliff side. :D

The fishing rod trick got used in Double Life to one-shot a Warden by five people luring him at the same time. You can go pretty high!

The Scar and Impulse bit with the arrow was interesting. The arrow's damage is determined by the sum of all velocity, this means firing from higher altitudes equals more damage due to acceleration of gravity. Minecraft projectiles have a default initial velocity that is added to the player's current velocity when fired, meaning higher velocity equals more arrow damage, this also explains the XP Bottles. The whole bit demonstrates the physics of Minecraft's projectiles.

Cool Fact: the distribution is a square because the items are given random velocity when burst, and that velocity is two values (X and Z velocities) between a range. This naturally creates a square because they are independent. If instead of getting two unconnected X and Z velocities the game generated a magnitude and a direction in degrees and then calculated the X and Z velocities, the pattern would be a circle. It is a square because a 0 on X and the max on Z is _smaller_ than the max on both X and Z. So the corners spread out into a square because they are the max on both so the total velocity is faster.

The extra-strong arrow and the jumping XP bottle are the same thing Xisuma! When you throw any projectile it adds the player speed to it. This works with snowballs, enderpearls, etc. Arrow speed is related to the damage (like Doc's arrow cannon) and if you run/jump when you use an ender pearl it goes further (like Cub's trident golf).

I love the bookshelf corner! And the transition is great! However, the floor feels a little flat. Maybe drop the dirt layer down one block? I think it would give a but more depth to the area.

Xisuma asking "you can be killed by a fishing rod?" is hilarious in the context kf Etho calling them the best weapon in the game and proceeding to kill a warden with the help of Grian, Joel, and like 3 others in Double Life. (Probably my favorite segment of that entire series, and thats saying something with how many good clips came out of it)

X, in Grian's life series, they did a fishing rod chain and is crazy: imagin in the video's scenario you hooked Impulse and Impulse hooked scar. Yes that works! Here is a mini game for pairs: "Hook Hight" a mini game where you and your partner try to fly as high as you can by pulling each other with fishing rods

The Missing Ladder game idea: At the start of the game a clock (item counter) starts for each player - they collect scaffolding pieces and can stop at ANY time - each player has a spot in their corner where they can build up to reach a button that stops the clock. Points are awarded for height, but also for time. Platform 1 will give less points, but it's faster to reach, platform 2 more points but more time to collect and build and ascend to it... etc. Anyway, great episode as always X

This square distribution is actually a very interesting piece of math - a circle is a set of points equally distant from a center, so its shape depends on how you measure distance. Minecraft in many cases measures distance just by number of blocks in between (that's why minecarts move fastest diagonally), and this kind of measure makes square circles. Normally we use euclidean metrics (i.e. the way you measure distance), but it's not the only one, and other metrics have theirs usefulness too.

Doc actually explains how velocity effects arrows in minecraft before. So, what Scar's doing actually makes sense within the game. If you wanta see Doc over do it, check his episode " Warp Speed." It's number 18 for this season.

the velocity boost of projectiles works with fishing rods too. if you jump up while reeling in another player, they fly up even more

I have an idea for your scaffold game! Put things down on the ground in the arena that break gravity blocks like buttons. I'd make a platform of scaffold at the very top of randomly colored concrete powder. When the scaffold falls, so does the concrete powder. Each color powder is worth different amounts of points. Say red is worth 1 point, green is 2 points, blue is 3, etc. That adds more randomness and chaos because even if you're the player that scooped up the most stuff, doesn't mean you automatically win! The score comes at the end when everything is tallied :)

A great thing to add to the first minigame would be random anvils falling from certain points of the scaffolding (because scaffolding can branch outwards too) and it could be really fun to see some players almost getting squished (downside to it is that it'd take longer to re-set the game)

One possible idea for the mini game could be adding scaffolding branches at random heights with an anvil on them. So you have to watch out above or risk losing all the ones you've collected! (It could add some fun chaos, this would make setting it up much longer though)

For the scaffolding game maybe include something that’s hooked up to a random timer (something hooked up to a barrel or chest) that’ll provide 1 slowness potion to whoever can get it first and splash the opponent? Or vice versa and use 1 to make ya faster that you can drink? Could put 2 chests out so the player doesn’t know which one the potion will go into?

The de-blinging of the statue wasn't exactly meant to coincide with the king's coffers running dry and was an unrelated (ish) party, but it certainly does line up well. Makes the King seem more humble, even losing out on his own prosperity for the quests etc.

For the XP Bottle thing, In Minecraft, when you throw a projectile (ARROWS, etc) Some of your velocity transfers over and adds upon the base velocity

Your speed affects most items you trow or shoot. It includes Ender Pearls, witch means you can go further if you have more speed when you throw them. Maybe you can use this for a competition.

For the mini game you could let trapdoors on the ground open randomly where the players can fall down. This could make it a little more challenging.

regarding the exp bottles, as of version 1.9, projectiles inherit some velocity from their "owner" in addition, arrows deal damage based on their momentum, so that's why scars arrows kill while he's elytraing

The mini game reminds me a lot of “Hungry Hungry Hippos”, with the main difference being that in that game you can only grab a few at a time- maybe that could be an added aspect? Either inventory slots are limited, or you have a “collection zone” that closes after the last scaffolding falls? That would make it a bit more strategic in choosing whether or not to bank your scaffolding Edit: I very clearly didn’t finish watching the video before making my hungry hungry hippos note. Welp…. Point still stands

This is where he adds indicators going up, for a piece of scaffolding to go off to the side and have dripstone on it. He could also use sticks with knock back for the miningame

The fishing rod trick works because the velocity given to an entity you reel in is dependent on your distance from the entity. And, the velocity is added to the entity's current velocity, which means fishing rod velocities can stack. The wiki claims that the speed applied to the reeled entity is a tenth of the distance. And, as Minecraft handles speed in meters per tick, that means a distance of 10 blocks applies 1 block per tick, in other words 20 m/s The max distance you can be hooked to an entity is about 33 blocks according to the wiki, which would lead to a theoretical max speed of 66 m/s. Gravity is rather strong in Minecraft, so this generally leads to a height of about 40 blocks for players (not entirely sure, may actually be a bit higher, haven't tested in a while and I don't recall the exact value). Height increases quadratically with velocity, so higher velocities lead to much greater changes in height reached. So, the best way to get a really good launch is to have as many players as possible hook onto a single player and stand above them as far as possible. Then, all players need to reel in at the same exact time. Even slight delays from players reduce the max velocity enough to significantly reduce the max height. But, if you can get it all at the same time, it feels really good to launch a player into space. (On my own server, five of us were able to launch a sixth player from y38 to y428. A redstone countdown is really helpful for this) Because of the precise timing needed to get the maximum height from the fishing rod space program, a minigame could definitely be made where you keep a book of record heights for launching players up. Have separate records for different numbers of players (starting with two players launching a third), and just see how close you can get players to the moon.

Fun shenanigans with Scar and Impulse. I loved that stream. Grian always launches players in the air with a fishing rod. One time they had 3 or 4 players on Double Life lift the Warden out of the water and sending it to the moon. That was wild! I can't wait for that charity stream and the mini games.

Etho taught Grian the power of the fishing rod amd they immediately killed a Warden with it. I feel like those two have so much potential when together but we never really see it because is so rare for them to collab.

Deathmach mode. Build the tower. Place sand on top with help of torches [Inverted piramid] And some arrows. Random amount of arrows. It requires more prep. But is an alternative mod. Also, you can wager on numbers. Double your points if you predict the exact amount.

The xp bottle would go higher because it's released from a higher spot, from the release point to the top of its arc it is probably the same as if you weren't jumping.

You could add an allay that either snags some scaffolding or starts off holding a bunch of its own and then gets released to drop them at a noteblock up in the air, basically dropping a "golden scaffold" stack of 25 or however many, but from so high that you won't see which ones it threw.

For the scaffolding minigame, you could use potion effects to add a bit of randomness. Use observers at different heights to trigger dispensers as the scaffolding pillar breaks. These could drop splash potions, tipped arrows, or even anvils on the players. Turtle master or Speed II tipped arrows could work well, with their short duration. Or maybe have a couple shulkers in the walls behind trapdoors, to add some levitation bullets to the fray.

You could turn the minigame into a hungry hippos game if you give the players fishing rods, and they're behind a barrier where they can collect the scoffolding with the rods. The player with the most scaffolding by the end wins, of course.

The thing is about the scaffolding and the arrow are actually very related, your motion is somewhat applied to the item you throw, making the xp bottles travel further, and the arrow deal more damage. That’s more or less the same thing that happens irl

You could have two players on each team and they shout instructions to their teammate who is closing their eyes or blinded in some way. The other thing I would say is to only have one inventory slot open so it is more of a hungry hungry hippo and they have to run back to drop off their stack. I would definitely splash everyone with turtle master as well which would slow everyone down further and add resistance. Alternatively you could splash with swiftness. Maybe more honey block in the shape of an X would add another game element to it as well. If snowballs had knockback that could be fun as well but I don't think that they normally do.

Two ideas for the Hungry Hungry Hermits minigame (with the scaffolding): 1. Taking a little inspiration from Total Chaos, have something off to the side that is throwing splash/lingering potions into the arena during the match. 2. Build something at build height that is detecting the presence/absence of the scaffolding to detect when the game starts, and drop some other items into the arena. Maybe cobblestone gives the players negative points, anvils to cause a surprise death, or chickens (just because).

the came reason behind the XP bottles going higher if you jump and throw, is the same mechanic for Cubfans Trident Golf, and the extra damage dealt by Scar shooting his arrow at top speeds. [you can launch an arrow with tnt at a wither and one shot, even if it was shot from a bow without power.] i forget who, but someone did a video showcasing a with farm using the aforementioned tnt arrow.

Regarding the mini-game, if you place a bone meal flower/grass farm beneath the non-sticky outside rim, the grass and flowers that are constantly generated may make for hidden scaffolding drops, and fill up inventory with fluff as part of a game mechanic for having to empty inventory more often.

I think the mini game looks cool, and having 4 players will just add a bit more chaos. The whole district will be awesome I think! Can't wait to see it come together. I also think the achievement hunting will be a lot of fun. A really cool episode, cheers!

Hmm besides the scaffolding maybe add sneaky blocks that, if they picked it up in the mad dash for the scaffolding it'll decrease their final numbers. It'll add more shenanigans especially if they can throw it their opponent's way if they picked some up... dunno could be fun.

The fishing pole trick + no elytra + trying to land in a slowly shrinking pool of water with multiple hermits. Sorta like musical chairs but they're all trying to land in a small square of water at the end and when people get taken out they help with the fishing rods

One way to make the scaffolding game more interesting is to have a Minecraft hopper go around the arena that picks up the loose scaffolding in 2 player mode meaning the hermits have less time to pick it up, that and a chest for each player that counts how much each hermit collected at the end

For the scaffolding game, because it requires restock for the scaffolding and reseting, I think you could set up a drop of area in each of the player corners (and color them), so when the players are done, they drop off the scaffolding, it shows the result on some sort of a number board and highlights the corner where the winner is (lights or may be blocks rise up or something like that). It can be on a hopper clock, so once 1 minutes passes, all scaffolding is transferred to the main chest again from where they can take it, set the game and play again and the scores reset. I think that would add a bit of a polish to the game and make it a complete experience.

If I might be so bold: Put the scaffolding up to 1 below the build limit... then add an anvil to the top. If folks can punch, then there's already a threat of death. The anvil would be predictable, but in the heat of play still a worthy obstacle, and add a tiny bit of complication to navigation for collection once it's landed. Combine that with a "no healing" rule and a "if you die during play you're out 'til the next round" rule, and you could add some interesting dynamics to the play.

for the mini game i think a way to make it more fun is by renaming every eight scaffolding and filling up the player's inventory (not hot-bar) so that when they are full, they drop everything off in a chest before coming out to collect more. this would make it so that the players don't just stand in the middle (as that is where most of the scaffolding is) even with the honey. the downside to this is that it would take longer to set up; especially if you want the scaffolding that have the same name to be distance when building the pillar in the middle.

*AN IDEA FOR A MINI GAME 💡* You can put a bunch of chickens in an open space and the hermits should be on the top and like get as much as possible ( I don't know how your gonna know the scores though 2.You can also do a shooting contest in different stages like while flying or laying down or underwater

The mini game you made is really cool but a fun twist is that you need to fishing rod the scaffolding to collect the points and the honey still has a use for slowing down the game item as you hook it.

with a little modification, the minigame could easily become a tower defense type game! played with teams and a little bit bigger of an arena, each team would gather scaffolding to build their own scaffolding tower (that can be knocked down by others, so strategy involving defense vs gathering more would come into play), and whichever team's tower is the highest wins

It seems like the distribution first picks a direction to throw the scaffolding and then determines a 2 dimensional random vector of a single magnitude to throw it out from there, which would cause a square distribution :)

I think that to make the scaffolding game more interesting it could have music, like a custom music disc that plays when the game starts, or maybe it could be like a countdown or instructions, kind of like what cub did in Total Chaos

I think from a code perspective, the reason those scaffolds fall the way they do is likely because the game randomly assigns a velocity on the X and Z axes, without respect to the total velocity (which would be less than the maximum/minimum X+Z values, due to the way triangles work)

the mini game looks so fun yet simple, I will give it a try to build in in one of my worlds. you could put soul sand and honey so you go different sleeds through the whole thing, and you could give people fishing rods.

You should make a mini-game where you have to "fish" something or someone through a series of obstacles and rings, the rings can be vertically or horizontally oriented, you can even have hazards like dripstone spikes to avoid and lava streams.

idea: i think soul sand and ice below it in the outer ring (where the items don't fall but you can be punched into) could be fun too, because it slows you down immensely. Maybe even give everyone a potion of slowness (throw it at them) so that the punching is really intense because the arena is pretty small. Slowness would make it so that it's harder to collect points ant there is more of an emphasis on punching other lads.

You could add some dispensers with slowness arrows that fire randomly. So you have to watch out for the other players as well as random flying arrows.
