Hello mate nice channel, May I recommend you to cut narrow long strips of fibreglass. This will make it easier to work with and as other people said use more resine. Other then that good work! Keep going and keep learning with your project. The hump looks great 👍

@ferdiandcornelius3481 5 жыл бұрын
hey, you are using way to little resin. that leads to more air in between the layers/matt itself. those air makes the final product not strong enough
@jishh
@jishh 5 жыл бұрын
The first layer was 250ml of resin and i used the same again on the day after . wasn't ideal but i have plans on reenforcing it from the under side so its not going to be structural or weight bearing (y) its all a learning curve
@ferdiandcornelius3481
@ferdiandcornelius3481 5 жыл бұрын
yea, nothing wrong with learning. i did the same few years back as hobbyist. just an advise, grind down some spot that look white (where an air inside) and fill again with resin and mat. don't be afraid if too much resin on it, you have a fiberglass roller anyway, you could roll the excesive resin out and make the fiberglass dense (no air+dense = strong and light weight) keep it up. looking fwd for your project.

Looks good mate, the top line follows the tank line really nicely and keeps the rear really low-profile... nice work, I like it a lot!

I see that the others have already said some good stuff here but let me add that you need way more layers than you think, when I did mine, I had about the number of layers as yours and it was flimsy af. Also if you layers that fiber mat with the woven stuff, you get a much stronger product. Happy to see you back.

really nice work. the pan turned out perfect. I dont understand what the separate block just behind the tank is for. It seems that will take away from any cushion you could have added.
@jishh
@jishh 5 жыл бұрын
Its to make room for the electrics and battery to minimalize the bulk of it on the under side of the frame. There will still be a good amount of cushion :)

Just some advice from personal experience. Make sure you don’t have any air pockets between the layers. If you have air between the layers, the air will expand when the bike stands in the summer sun. And then you will have these huge blisters. Been there, done that. And fixing it afterwards is a pain👎 Also you need way more layers.

Hi Jish nice try with the fibre glassing bud but you have nowhere near enough saturation of resin on that glass matting mate, i wished you had watched a few videos first for reference. It will be like a honeycomb full of air pockets.

Around the £300 mark with wheel, brakes spindle etc. unsure how well it will handle and it sits pretty dam low! You will need to change your rear wheel to match too as its a very wide front wheel

There seems to be an obsession with seat humps also a complete misunderstanding of the cafe racer concept with all and sundry confusing the idea with other styles, a cafe racer has nothing to do with scamblers, brats or anyy other cocktail, a cafe racer is about clip on bars rearset rests and controls the so called hump was an after though to stop your arse being propelled of the back of the bike so unless your doing it right leave it alone
