Filter is not the problem. Change exhaust to longer end cans or use a 4 into 1. Short cans are loud and sound great but sap power. I have a 2001 red (fastest) 1300 with 36y full Akro system 4 degree advancer k & n panel filter extra clutch plate mod to get more power to rear wheel and cut the tube out of the airbox 129hp 91ft lbs no need to alter jetting pulls from tickover.
