The only difference in the walk away ending is that the Rook gets subconsciously triggered into killer mode before it can even happen. Nuclear War is hinted at happening no matter what throughout the game Faith just wants you to believe in The Father's BS as divine prophecy which in fact, is the clear opposite. The Father dry snitches on himself that he is nothing more than a charlatan through his own boasts saying "when you wake up in the morning, you 'see the same news that I do'." (i.e meaning that his prophecy was no more than a news report and a lucky guess) In the end, he sounds more relieved than assured that he ended up being "right".

2 Parts here made me feel really bad for her: 1. When she said she was just 17 when he drugged her and forced her to do his bidding etc 2. At the end where she reaches out to you and you pull back, it's like she realizes the monster she's become and just gives up on life.

Meanwhile during the fight she admits she never wanted to be a part of Joseph’s Cult. She was getting drugged by the time she was 17. Also like everyone else, I am tired of far cry games having bad endings unless you “don’t play.” It’d be one thing if they were deeper but the endings are shallow. Spec ops: the line is how you do a game with only bad endings. It progresses into it. In far cry, you feel awesome and righteous all the way to the end, then lose.

Technically yes, the cult was right and they wanted to save the society from nuclear war but the government was fighting against the cult. If only the government would leave the cult alone there wouldn't be a war. Basically everything you have done on this game was for nothing, you only did something that was required by somebody else trough out the whole game. This exact same thing is happening in real life too, people just obey and follow orders without questioning anything. We followed orders to stop the cult and disturbed their freedom and free will, for what exactly? All this fighting and war for absolutely nothing... We fought against the cult because the government don't want free people. This game has a strong message only few can understand.

About the only one I felt bad for killing was Faith. I imagine that at one point in her life, she was actually a good person before Joseph got his hands on her. And I think that's what she ultimately wanted: for things to be better for herself. She wants her innocence back, but can never get it back. I imagine she was genuinely good and just doing what she thought was right. Wish we could've arrested her instead of killing her.

7:28 I feel like the reason your character steps back is that they still fear her. Remember past cut scenes, when faith touches you, she can control you, look at what she did to the Marshall while she was touching him. Also when she touched your character, she could lift you off the ground or fly you across the ground very quickly. At this point, if she touched you she could throw you into a rock or dropped you from high enough to kill you.
