I’ve been abroad for 5 months (in Japan) & for 9 months (in Thailand)! On my first time traveling as a knitter to Japan I only packed one project and it was not enough!! But luckily there was knitting stuff all over and very easy to find. In Thailand I packed a lot of yarn but still traveled 4 hours round trip to go to the closest yarn store because I craved buying yarn 😂

Hi Lisa I thought you must be Dutch…it was the Orange hat that gave you away ! It’s so lovely to see young girls like you knitting and crocheting. I have for about 55years as I’m seventy now and still love it. I think it helped a lot of people through lockdown but you young girls lost 2 years of important fun so I hope you will make up for that in France 🇫🇷 The first crochet I learnt was in France I found a pattern to make crochet holly stockings and I made them in purple ! they came out really well, it kept me quiet for the rest of our holiday. I don’t care about long journeys as long as I have some thing to make. I hope you love France have a great time and keep making. One more thing try to buy the best yarn you can, I think you didn’t like Acrylic that’s good because it’s horrible stuff ! you take so much time making something it’s better to work with yarn that feels lovely. Enjoy France Lisa . Anix

You can put dried lavender or cloves in small breathable bags then put one in each container. Those are known to repel bugs. Lavender makes me sneeze so I use cloves. 🧶

I did 3 semesters in Italy. I brought my favorite needles and a couple balls of yarn, but I left the rest behind because I knew I would buy yarn abroad! I tried to limit my purchases to just what I could use for my next project.

Such good inspiration! I'll have to sort it out as we have to make space for a baby girl coming in november and we live in a very small appartment :)

How many projects can you expect to do in 20 weeks? Your ‘take with’ pile is lovely, but rather ambitious. Don’t miss L’il Weasel yarn shop in Paris!

I recently moved from Ukraine to Poland, I left everything in Ukraine. all the yarn was left at home. I'm slowly buying everything here. I managed to take some embroidery and knitting with me. I'm really looking forward to having a lot of supplies

My heart goes out to you and all Ukrainians 💖 Not having yarn when having to leave the country might not be a big concern, but I hope that doing crafts helps you a bit. Much love, Lisa
