Understand; your ego and shadow self are the children who were hurt and did not get the compassion they deserved. Your shadow self isn't the "bad guy" they are merely missing the love they needed, this is why shadow work is helpful.

Definitely okay to journal in your notes app the first few times - but I highly recommend setting a notebook aside as your dedicated journal! For some reason (at least for me) it makes a huge difference when I can physically write it all out ♥️

@@hawaiiimama can't really find a journal. I have cerebral palsy so sometimes it's hard to write. And I don't want people to find my journal and see what I write, so the phone is the only thing that I have really. If I would, I definitely could, but I have a nosy family.

i know its already a year u wrote this comment but maybe you can try creating an email account where you mail those journals to yourself. I created a separate email for journal few months ago and whenever I want to vent all of the things I email myself from my an other gmail account to my journalling gmail account. And I feel there are somethings that does not seem necessary to write in a notebook but are also necessary to let it out.

I automatically wrote with these prompts today and, having little experience doing shadow work, it was nice to have just enough time to acknowledge some negative emotions without necessarily being overwhelmed by them. i didn't realize i avoided anger so much.. made me realize it makes me feel like a bad guy to express anger, i think i have that view after growing up with my mom and her verbally abusive outbursts, i never thought that deep. now i know its ok to express anger in a healthy way therefore it doesn't make someone a bad person for being angry, its human. thank you for these prompts, they really allowed me to look at things from a new perspective and i feel a little more at peace ❤️

haven’t done shadow work in about a year and honestly, i’ve been blocked since. i just went through a major tower moment and decided to humble myself and do the shadow work 😩 not easy as my ego rather me just keep going on with what i’m doing instead of looking in the mirror, but so worth it. i rather show up as my best myself in this world.

Hi! These are completely to be interpreted how you feel, so if just writing emotions is all you can do, that's perfectly fine! I typically write what my first initial reaction is to the prompt and go from there. I hope this helps

Hi! Great question - I have other shadow work journaling prompts on my channel under playlists under "All interactive journaling prompts" I will say that shadow work can take a lot out of you and you should take your time while entering that realm. I usually reflect with shadow work every 2-3 weeks! So in retrospect, no you don't have to use the same prompts!

You know , I feel even worse now .... I was happy how far I have come but I just feel lost and un real . I feel I am wrong , the toxic person or just a problem alive. There's no need to stress on how long a prompt answer is! The main point is that you took time to sit down and jot down what's running through your mind. It's okay if it's super short or super long ~ there is no judgement at all
