I wonder if bands today would accept re-recording just for a radio show. In those years, these sessions allowed some of them access to an excellent recording studio and release a disc. For other bands, that makes interesting alternate versions of studio-quality.

One of the great sessions, just as things were winding down into the unpromising 80s. I remember my accidental early & then late use of the pause button merging Incubus and Geheimnis perfectly into a single piece. :)

@@HollomanUFOLanding Not according to the band. The starting point was Joy Division. They also hung out with Einstürzende Neubauten and got friendly with the Cocteau Twins. So no Souxsie. Having said that, because of bands like Souxsie and the Banshees and Bauhaus and the rest, there was an audience out there ready for Xmal Deutschland which would have made things easier for them. Just starting to rediscover this band myself - they are much better than I remember!

You can not say this. They didn’t even speak the same language. Besides it’s like saying there wouldn’t be punk with Malcom McLarren subsidizing the whole thing making it a commercial construct. Ewe.

Man.... if anybody was ever worthy of the Monarchy's system of recognition (OBE/knighthood) for services rendered for the good of the entire population of a nation, it's Saint Peel. His program was an island nation rising out of the sea; a mecca whose gravity pulled us in and sheltered all of us castaways. Happily marooned, Kyle xoxoxo
