Hi XMG, the upgrade that you guys presented on your laptop lineups are pretty amazing. Just one question, do you guys have any plans on implementing top-of-the-line AMD CPUS like ryzen 9 7945HX or 7945HX3D, cuz I think the performance could be interesting knowing that ryzen cpus are more power efficient in terms of peak consumption and maybe could allocate more power to the GPU. Actually does perform Better E24 or E23 with 13900HX? I've seen all records with 13900HX undervolted + RAM 6400MHz + Oasis watercooling. Does 14900HX E24 support same undervolt + overclock + RAM 6400mhz + watercooling and obtains higher average clocks and best results in benchmark still operating more silent with less temperature? Or Is still preferable 13900HX E23 for best tuning and results?

Global warranty fullfillment will add costs and delay for shipping and customs fees, making it impractical for most users. Water must be removed from XMG OASIS and from the laptop before shipping. Love the improved design, so much nicer to have a large central touch pad. Still dont like to see a full numpad on a 15/16 inch chasis but i suppose thats personal preference. Not sure about the water cooling, to be honest i was expecting a bigger evolution over last year. The tiny little water pipe inside seems a little underwhelming. I mean, if you could design and build a water cooling solution inside that machine that benefited more than slightly better temps youd really be onto something. If you could make that water pipe twice as wide inside for example. As it stands, its percieved as gimmicky to the masses out side the most hardcore enthusiasts. Keep at it and really make the water cooling feature have a more substantial improvement in temps and sustained performance and the massis will look at it. Also, re design that water cooling unit, that things bloody ugly! Nice youve gone with a 500 nit display this year.

I wouldn’t recommend using the water cooler while its on your lap, too easy to unplug the water cooler. You could use it aircooled just fine though.

Very similar performance to an overclocked and undervolted MSI Titan 18HX. XMG basically just did a lot of the optimization before shipping, that said, the gpu wattage/clocks is maybr 5% higher out of the box.

Also please as XMG says on 16 versione there Is a higher CPU TDP limit than 17, i have 16 E23 and my CPU stops at max 100W while pl1 and pl2 are set tò 160w. Is this a limit or can It be set higher? Under load It reaches 95°C at max 100w lowering frequencies tò 3200mhz, i want 200w 5,4ghz sustained at max 80°C Is It possibile with liquid metal + watercooling + undervolt + max fans? I know what you mean! But 95C is literally within spec for safety standards for long term use. Should last many years at that temp. I have not seen any reports of laptops failing due to sub 100C temps.

Von den bislang eher langweiligen Neuheiten der CES2024, finde ich das Neo 16 sehr interessant. Vieles wurde hier richtig gemacht: schicker (kein gamery) schlichter Look, überarbeitete Wasserkühlung, kleineres Netzteil etc. Meine Fragen wären noch: - welches Crossload-Limit der CPU bei ~170w GPU Leistung? - wie sieht's mit AMD CPU aus? - erlaubt die Lüftersteuerung ein 0rpm Mode? - erlaubt die Lüftersteuerung z.B. leise 2000rpm bei 80-85°C CPU oder überschreibt der EC die Kurve? Leises/ leiseres Setup ist mit der Wakü sicherlich möglich, aber dafür müsste man (volle) Kontrolle über die Lüfter haben.

Vielen Dank für dein Feedback und deine Fragen. 1. Beim NEO 16 kannst du von mindestens 250W kombinierter CPU+GPU Leistungsaufnahme ausgehen. 2. Eine AMD CPU ist derzeit im XMG NEO nicht geplant. Pläne für "Hawk Point" gibt es im XMG FUSION 15, aber ist noch nicht bestätigt. 3. Eine Modus mit 0rpm wird es unter Last nicht geben, weil neben CPU und GPU (über Wasser) auch der Rest des Mainboards und des Akkus einen kleinen Airflow benötigen. Im absoluten Idle hingegen können die Lüfter vorrübergehend stillstehen. 4. Manuelle Lüftersteuerung ist möglich, aber evtl. gar nicht sinnvoll. XMG NEO mit XMG OASIS (Mk2) war auch schon in 2023 mit automatischer Lüftersteuerung unter Last sehr leise. Wenn man die Komponenten bei niedrigen Drehzahlen dauerhaft am thermischen Limit laufen lässt, ist dies ggf. abträglich für die Langlebigkeit des Gesamtsystems. Daher raten wir davon ab, die manuelle Lüftersteuerung zu sehr nach unten hin auszureizen. Weitere Fragen gern per Mail, Reddit oder Discord. // Tom

Impressive results and respect for XMG, but shame on Intel, 14th gen could not even exist, 13980HX would probably achieve more or less same results using same cooling solution. Is 14900HX though supports DDR5-5600 2x48GB or 2x32GB config at full speed on this laptop? 13980HX was an joke, supporting only 32gigs of RAM at full speed, then 64 gigs at 5200 speed and 128gigs at 4000 (i know it was able to run higher on XMG laptops because of RAM OC). What about support for 6000 sticks?

Great questions! My understanding regarding the RAM speed is that increasing the capacity makes it much harder to run at higher speeds. Beyond 16 GB x2 sticks (32 GB total), the RAM speeds are reduced, not because of the CPU, but because of the ram chip density. The CPU also needs to be compatible of course. Whem comparing laptop RAM vs Desktop RAM, keep in mind that laptop ram chips are much smaller overall in size, making ram density a bigger issue.

About this question: *"does 14900HX though support DDR5-5600 2x48GB or 2x32GB config at full speed on this laptop"*, the answer is two-fold: *1)* Intel's validation currently supports 2x32GB DDR5-5600 only with a very small number of DRAM steppings and this solution is not available yet - neither Intel's firmware nor the required DRAM modules. This concerns the "out of the box" experience with SPD profiles and Intel's formal guarantee, that this would work not only sometimes, but consistently across thousands of devices. There is no 2x48GB DDR5-5600 validation in Intel's documents yet. *2)* XMG NEO is able to set custom RAM speeds. You can easily set DDR5-5600 or higher speeds. Many users have already achieved great results with this on i9-13900HX. I will push our component team to offer relevant XMP-enabled memory soon, but it can also be done on any vanilla SPD RAM. SK Hynix seems to overclock very well.
