The biggest difference I think is that Wings is basically incompetent due to stupidity, and Phil is incompetent due to laziness. I don't know, Wings is pretty damn lazy and Phil is pretty damn stupid. I think the big difference between the two is ego. Phil thinks he is so talented and special that he deserves for strangers to give him money for what he does, nothing bad in his life is ever his fault and his minor accomplishments (like being a low level Street Fighter pro) are greatly exaggerated. Wings on the other hand is a sad sack who has almost no self esteem and quite often actually blames himself for his problems. They're both stupid and lazy, but I think Phil has a massive ego and Wings doesn't. You're right about being friends with them though. If you put a gun to my head I'd much rather hang out with Jordie for an afternoon than Phil.

I've watched both for a long time, and know about both the trolls and critics of both personalities. Wings is a far better human being, who's far more self-aware of his own faults and cares more about other people, but who also has much more aggressive trolls since he's an easy target. His main problem is doubling down on bad opinions, and legitimate mental issues like depression that aren't just made up, but really do exist. However, despite his faults, he's not a bad human being, at least not in this day and age. Phil has little to no self-awareness, and tries to pretend he's above not only criticism, but at times, even the rules. He will complain and cry about things, but if he stands to gain, those things stop mattering. The way he treats others is also awful; people, to him, are tools to be used to prop up his financials and his ego. His main problems are narcissistic ego and a constant barrage of lying, as well as spinning the truth for self-gain. His trolls are quite different though; nowhere near as aggressive, mostly use his raw clips against him, and often even defend him.

Honestly, after discovering DSP in 2016 and getting involved in this whole "lolcow" fiasco, the contrast between him and Wings is pretty... obvious. Wings just seems like a guy who doesn't know how to take the criticism that comes with the popularity he had garnered. Simply by virtue of being in the public eye, everything you do is going to be scrutinized. People are going to dislike you for the most benign shit and everyone is going to have an opinion about everything. In addition to that, Wings' early career bloated his fat fucking head to nearly DSP levels. Conversely, DSP's early popularity bloated his head even more. The difference is that while Wings was buried under the constant pressure of being a public figure and ended up succumbing to his depression, DSP.... well, he's too much of a narcissist to realize he could even be in the wrong. It kinda goes without saying but DSP is never to blame for literally anything. His obsession with himself is palpable. Wings at least has a modicum of self awareness and that's infinitely more than DSP could manage. Lastly, I've never been banned from Wings' chat. Meanwhile, I got banned from DSP's chat when he was complaining about people "playing games early" and I reminded him about Dark Souls 3. I've even had some conversations with Wings in his chat. The only difference between him and PKA era Wings is that he can't get away with saying the age of consent should be 12 now a days, and so he doesn't give controversial takes. I love your videos which is why I want to offer my own two cents. One thing you don't factor into Wings's character is the fact that he gave one of his ex-girlfriends male child multiple unnecessary enemas. He claims that he did this to treat constipation even when he admits that a child psychiatrist specifically told him that the anal retentiveness was due to a lack of attention. I hope I don't need to explain how psychologically damaging this entire scenario is, and it's something Wings doesn't admit to this very day. This is something that goes beyond just flirting with minors or outrageous statements he's made, this is a case where a real life human being was mentally scarred by something Wings's literally did to him, multiple times. Anyways, I know this is dark but it's the reality of the man, it's not your fault that I felt nauseated listening to him being praised as "honest" and "really not that bad", after all it's a facet of Wings lore that he intentionally tries to keep under wraps. It's the typical thing where somebody admits to a lesser crime in order to draw heat away from the much more damning reality. Wings can feel confident admitting he said the age of consent should be 12 because compared to what he's really trying to hide, that's relatively tame. Horrifying, to put it lightly.
