it annoys me to no end when people talk about "sexual compatibility." that has no bearing on a long-lasting, loving marriage. you don't have to test the waters to see if he/she is "good in bed." most people are not "good" their first time, whether it's in regards to sex, skateboarding, or making pancakes. good sex doesn't just happen; it requires patience and communication. plus, you wouldn't know if someone was bad in bed if you had never had sex before anyway. sexual compatibility does not exist.

I hate how this world uses sex as a means to define if a couple are "compatible". They compare it to test-driving a car before buying it. Who cares? It's their private life. I don't know about waiting until marriage, but one of the biggest issues we do have in this culture is people having sex before they EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER. You're talking about the most intimate act that can possibly take place between two people, and there is this expectation that you must do it within 3 dates?? Give me a break. First of all, most people under the age of 35 in this country still don't realize that you can get STI's and STD's thru oral sex alone. They also think that condoms will protect you from pregnancy. False, I knew a couple in college who got pregnant in college despite the use of condoms and birth control pills. Secondly, the number one key to great sex in a long lasting, committed relationship is communication. People who do not know each other have not achieved a level of intimacy and honesty to where they can honesty talk about sex. They just don't. It's an uncomfortable subject, and any premature discussion of it is going to lead to people getting hurt. Wonder if the girl was sexually molested at 6 years of age (1 in 5 women in this nation are as kids), or if the man has major issues with premature ejaculation. You really want to trust those issues to someone who doesn't give a living crap about you? Be my guest. My issue with this whole subject is that I firmly believe if this couple had waited to do the nasty until, say, 10 months into the relationship, the vast majority of Americans - especially young people - would still be freaking out. You spend way more time with your partner while you're dressed.
