I had this dream the other night that all SoC commanders released before Honda became epic commanders only available in season 3 and they still required the same amount of heads to expertise as legendary commanders except they only required purple heads.

Just finished my first SOC with only Nevsky expertised. Since we won kvk, I used saladin as primary to run around and hit cities for some kills. As a pre t5 player this was good because no one could really catch me, and especially since Saladin does not plunder it's possible to abuse hasty departure together with the conquering tree and farm a lot of kills.

Im using sala Expert and William 5551 as 5th March (2nd cav) with defensive formation and purple equip. I was expecting him to be complete useless but ehi. This March Is doing quite good. In openfield It moves fast enought to control It and It provides good buffs for my "main" 4marches. I like It. I'll check what other new cavs Will come and After that i'll decide if gonna bench im out or mantain for One more kvk

My fav comander, he have best kits, best video introduction, simple but very nice skill. He need at least 700 dmg factor to be usefull, and yea the new com should have some connection either with healing red, but it can also be with skill dmg reduction or countreatack. there is no many cav com with that

İmperium and A seed kingdoms use meta commander mostly, lower seed kingdoms it is all about activity and numbers( you can see bunch of commanders in the field except charlamene and Barca😅)

hi: can't we just do a combo (which is something we have not seen before, but in code, we have an && condition). IE: if a target has been slowed AND has a healing reduction, then the fabric of the universe rips open and the target is sucked into a void of black hole and disappears from the face of the earth, never to be returned. If a new commander had that in his kit, then saladin will be ultra meta, as it would permanently erase a commander from the enemy roster, never to be returned. I think we need that in 2024. Bar None.

im going to disagree with you slightly. I run 3 cav marches and have for several years. had 87mil kills last kvk as a low spender and 48mil lifetime kills on saladin. One of the most undervalued stats in the game is march speed. There is no such thing as enough march speed. The ability to engage and disengage at will is super powerful. Ive even considered dropping wedge for triple line formation. Having said that, saladins musuem buff keeps him useful as the 6the cav commander. IMO his is significantly better than justinian in the field. He is faster, has a debuff, and 30% skill dmg reduc is better in most cases than even 30% health and is def better justinians additional 10% def and 20% health but -15%atk. Now Justinian of course hits with a bigger hammer but has no debuffs and in practice performs poorly in the field. March speed debuffs are a big deal for the same reason that march speed is. So taken all together with the fact that its best to have balanced marches (offense and defense), saladin is currently one of the best options behind XY in the field. That gives us nev/joan, huo/will, xy/saladin. As a cav player u want xy to get there first and hit with his aoe debuff first...then be able to retreat. Saladin helps him with that better than justinian, mina, cc, takeada, or chandra. Ive tried them all

My take on saladin he has good until nevsky came out. Than he was average. Mina museum now for p2w you can have bigger damage more stats and a good debuf. Than hou is the last nail in the coffin. Because his slow now every meta commander has Liu-hou-boudica etc.... He has no skill damage or any damage buff. The only okaish early commander now are ysg-mina-Alex-tomy. Because even if the devs make 3k damage factor you still have debuff or 50 skill damage buff from ysg. Sala has nothing

My biggest issue with the game is lack of diversity. Everyone fighting each other with the same commanders and it's getting boring. Lillith should make it to where new commanders pair well with older commanders, or give us the ability to change old commanders unit type and some skills, like give me the ability to change honda or to infantry and change one of his skills or Guan's skills to Martel's 2nd skill. Giving Martel the ability to change his 3rd skill to one of Trajan's buffing skills could make a pairing with Guan good.

Theres no saving Saladin. His museum buff was the nail in the coffin. So many better options and I cant even think of any synergy they can implement to make Saldin viable. Maybe a mechanic to change single target dmg to AOE. 10% chance?

I recognize infantry players have a love for Alex. My experience hitting Alex as recently as a few weeks ago is, Alex is very poor. TLDR; -What revives saladin: a gimmick based off of both heal reduction AND speed reduction at the same time -What keeps saladin hanging on barely alive: high skill damage meta, more good AoE secondaries -What kills saladin off: smite Saladin still falls into the category of "usable off meta". 95% of Saladin's value comes from his 3rd skill, "Bond of fate". When paired with his talent trees, Saladin has 51% full time skill damage taken reduction, and 66% when emergency protection triggers. Saladins low amount of stats following the 20/20/speed model (technically 30/20/speed) is fine. Stats are starting to mean less; stat bloat is very real as a result of 15% skins, higher tier gear, and armaments. The 51% to 66% skill damage reduction scales well on top of a high-skill damage meta & stat bloat. Smite damage with LC was looking like it would kill off Saladin for good and cripple Boudica P. HP's introduction through a big wrench in the smite meta shift. The more focus on skill damage, the high the value on 51-66% of Skill damage reduction. Saladin's primary purpose is to hide an AoE damage dealer and keep it alive. If you arent being targeted; you get 51-66% skill damage reduction, and 29% counterattack reduction, and not being targeted that's mostly all the type of damage you take. Targeting psychology is also variable. Playing in dot mode renders targeting irrelevant. I used Saladin in my last KvK and found other Cav commanders like Nevsky and Justinian were being targeted first. YMMV.

Why is this chatter?? just to say that the game only supports infantry!!! Even the same Richard is being played in 2024 and infantry has a huge advantage over riflemen and cavalry!!!! And now the Cavalry has received Ho and the infantry commander kltlryy plays perfectly with almost any infantry commander, Luce revived Alexander the Great, and try Ho Salalin, this is a dead march with one goal!!!
