Not really as bad as it looks. Those cards are engineered to sit right next to each other. The fan hole goes all the way through. And you need to keep in mind, those (likely delta) fans at the front are pushing an insane amount of air into the case, that air needs to go somewhere, and with those blower fans pulling for air, it will most definitly find its way there. It could definitly be improved tho, this version of the card is meant for workstations in Desktop cases mostly. There is also another version that is meant to be slotted into a riser of some sort vertically instead of upright like in this case, with a giant heatsink sitting on top. that way you would get perfect front to back flow through the cards. Then there is also nvididas whole platform for this where you essentially get one giant PCB with all the GPUs on it and giant heatsinks on top of it, though afaik that version is only available as part of prebuilt servers. If you are interested in this kind of stuff, check out servethehome here on youtube, patrick reviewed some of those servers and explains it all in great detail.

@christophermullins71632 жыл бұрын
Ha yeah. Those are basically underclocked from factory(as opposed to your RTX counterpart) and those fans are insanely fast (and loud) and run full blast when the system is taxed so... yeah. Itll be cool while it sounds like a duramax at full tilt. Lol Edit.. after doing some googling I found that most images show these cards stacked with the same millimeter of space. Seems odd but the design is to accommodate being stacked. Think about it not as CFM but as Static Pressure. Those fans are fast but more important they can move air with a large amount of authority even when space is limited.

I don't think it's the best thermal design out there. The airflow from front of the case is perpendicular to the airflow required for the CPU cooler. GPUs already have a blower design that sucks literally, but are choking on each other with a close stack like that. With four high flow fans pump air in and just two medium flow fans and a slow PSU fan to exhaust, there is going to be a positive pressure which the GPUs being so closely packed cannot vent out. If the CPU coolers could be rotated 90° and 2 GPUs less, it would be much better.

Water loop or something fancy like that is clearly not applicable in this server chassis, the only way is to test or develop a non conductive water or liquid tank to submerge the whole chassis down like Microsoft does with their server hardware. Never realised the fans on these cards were so in order for all of them to draw in air as if into a tunnel for a line of GPU-s, that then gets dispelled out the rear of each card. Simple, those case/rack are designed to have high pressure air comming from the front which is pushed by a bunch of high powered fans that generate a lot of noise and air and and it exhausts it at the back, that also the reason why those gpu can be packed in tightly against each other as they are designed to be efficient and be cooled in cramped spaces like a server, as for the cables blocking the airflow it's not a problem since it won't affect it
