China's incredible journey into EV's, has paid off for that country, when I was there in March, I saw a great deal of EV's there in the three major cities that we traveled Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing. You can see it making a difference already there, as there, was very little pollution, and the Fast rail there is another level by far which also helps keeping the pollution down. Thanks, Tom and your lovely wife, for showing us the XPeng Cars

I recently bought a G9P in Dubai. The local dealer currently sells G6, G9 and X9 (special order only). Not sure about their plans for P7+, but I could see it happening in 2025. I think Xpeng will try to sell most of their cars in export markets to keep their dealerships abundant with product choice, and because they probably achieve higher margins in export markets compared to the brutally cut throat Chinese market.

XPeng X9 vs Zeekr 009?
@SMJ-l6r2 күн бұрын
@ I personally drive the 2024 edition of the 009. It is an amazing vehicle. Part of the reason is because of the luxury of the second row captains seats and another is the 3.9 to 100km acceleration. But I would still admit that the X9 is a better value proposition. It’s got many advantages over the 009 for quite a bit less money: a massive 21” screen positioned closer, rear wheel steering, amazing transforming third row, a sleek design that doesn’t make you look like you are just a dad, and zero gravity seats in the second row. The features in this thing are astounding for the price point.

@@LudicrousFeed True. Currently in China RMB 119,800 (US$16,560): That's the base model with a 515km (420 WLTP) range. So about $26k Australian in China. Add shipping and associated logistics, maybe thousand or so more. Which brings it close to the 30k mark. But news out of China on Renew Economy has the latest LFP prices dropping as low as $60US/kWh. That's below $100 AUD/kWh. If this flows through, I think next year we will see the first sub 30k EVs arriving. We have no tariffs and how much is shipping/unit going to rise? I'd say shipping will fall unless there is a bunker fuel price rise, as more cars come. GWM Ora sales are what happens when companies try to play the market though. No-one was impressed with the mark-up and they have never recovered to what they should be for this car. I don't think XPeng will make that mistake. They have priced the G6 sharply to compete with the MY.

If you're worried about depreciation you can use it as a cheap home battery home after 18 months ... but frankly, I'd still be using it as a car for many years after that (as with any EV, or ICE vehicle for that matter) - seems incredibly wasteful to be replacing a car after just a few years on a continuous basis with no real reason. But even so, as @LudricousFeed mentioned, any used car buyer will be quite happy with that - which is great for the second-hand car market and overall removing more ICE vehicles off the road.
