One of my best friends from growing up and I would go to this group panel called Dead town and basically it's like playing D&D where the computer randomizes the situations that you're thrown into in one campaign he lost an arm in another he lost his leg after he lost his leg because the staff knew him from years of playing since they started doing it they decided that his nickname was now "stubby" so when we see each other once in awhile I go "hey stubby what's up?"

My half orc had this amazing backstory about being on a sea monastery where his whole shit got ruined by some fey, anyways, at sea he encountered a prideful sea god, and being the charming half orc monk he is, he called the sea god a lout and other foul names, so the god just rips of this dude's arm and beats the shit out of my character with it, like mortal kombat style. So yeah, that's the story of how I began multiclassing a half-orc with a bronze arm, monk and wild magic sorcerer who didn't have a forgiving patron. He also worshipped the god as his monk inspiration.

So in one of my games I tried out the new eberron stuff playing a war forged artificer and one of the players looses their legs so I ask the GM if I can make some war forged legs for the player a nat 20 later I make and attach the legs which are actually better then the original and he gets 5 more movement speed as a result and people can't pants him as well which in my games is pretty good though a war forged do not like the heat metal spell since it takes them 1 hour to take off their armor

Nothing good happens when you grab onto an enemy that can teleport. In one of my home games, I was playing a dragonborn bard-something and i had a winged serpent familiar/companion named Snek. We were going off to fight this mage who'd turned evil or something and he had teleported about 30 or so feet up into the sky and we were having a hard time reaching him. So I got the bright idea of using Snek to fly up behind him, drop down, and knock him out of the sky. So we fly up there and i just barely passed the grapple check to grab him, and we start plummeting to the ground in a case of "I'm taking you down with me!". Unfortunately, the mage used misty step and just teleported out of there, leaving me still free falling face first to the ground. I died and because I basically was the psuedo-heal-bot, it ended in a big TPK.

I had a character loose a limb for a very dumb reason. My Goliath barbarian opened s safe and saw... the cram salesman, and I went to grab said salesmen, the salesmen crawled around me like a spider then to my back. Another player was being annoying so I go to attack, but never specified who, the cram salesman defended himself and cut my right leg off at the shin. I ended up having my character become depressed and slower due to it. Fun times

What's the verdict on a character born without arms that later mods (or homebrews, whichever makes more sense) Mage Hand to give them a sort of 'Phantom Limbs' mechanic where they can have ethereal limbs for, say, 1 + con mod + 1d10 minutes and summon/dismiss them over this duration and not being able to cast the spell again for either 1 minute or 10 - con mod - 1d4 minutes?

This one time the wizard in my party was trying to navigate through a mountain that an avalanche just happened in, and they had to roll a dex check. They rolled a 1 and had a minus 1 to dex.
