If both hit steal they get nothing, but if one steals ,one of them gets all the money, and the other has a chance to negotiate getting half or at least something (this really wouldn't be too hard in this situation unless the other participant is a complete psychopath). For split/steal, if you can't negotiate, like this video, split. Going for a steal doesn't help at all. With this, if one split and one steals, they can split it after the video, but that adds unnecessary risk as the other person may steal. However, if you can negotiate, always steal and tell the other person to split and explain, you will give it to them afterward. If they do split, then if you give it back or not, you got the money. However, if they don't split, you both don't get the money, but you were outward about your choice, so no blame could be put onto you.
