Great to see you review the Bergara B14R, I just picked up the B14r as well. Unfortunately dont have much of an ammo selection, just using CCI Standard, getting similar results as target 2 groupings. Tried a muzzle brake and looks similar to your target 1 grouping where it opens up a little. New to precision rimfire shooting. Good luck on your match using the B14r 🤙🏼

Easy fix for bergara for arca rail without any modifications to stock. Since there is a full length aluminum frame the sling swivel studs are in solid. Remove studs and find same pattern hex key bolts about 1” long with decent size washers. Purchase a generic arca rail online I used a 13” I believe, it goes from front of mag to just past stock. Both threaded holes already in stock were plenty sufficient to bolt on rail and zero issues so far. Maybe $25 in total for parts.

If you are worried about it's light weight, I suggest you change to the steel barrel version which weighs a good deal more. Every report I have seen suggests the steel barrel shoots a tiny bit better than the carbon. I love mine, which is topped with a Swampfox Patriot 5-25x50 FFP in MOA and has a Trigger Tech Special trigger.

Watch out for feed issues if you change the stock. Larry P and I have both had issues with that B14r action in krg and xlr chassis. Larry went back to factory stock with 419 weighted rail and feeding issue resolved. I dropped a Vudoo in my KRG chassis and it feeds fine.
@ArmyOfZin3 жыл бұрын
I had issues with the X-Ray. The magazine is too loose and will pitch/roll in the mag well after the first cartridge is fired. The subsequent cartridge will hang on the lip of the chamber. Unfortunately this happens in the Bergara chassis as well; although it is much less frequent than the X-Ray chassis.

I have two Bergara center fire HMRs and love them. I also have the B-14r but am waiting on rings to mount the scope. I agree about the cheek rest height on the Bergaras. I've had to add God'a Grip cheek pads on both (and probably the B-14r) to get enough eye elevation for the scope.
@SCQT3 жыл бұрын
Glad youre liking it so far. Obviously i agree, as that is what i went with I do think the stock/chassis it comes in is excellent for the price, but i had the same issue with the comb height. A Weibad pad did however fix that. The stock trigger is also pretty mediocre imo. Not awful, but nowhere near as good as say the T1x with a yodave spring at half the price. That being said, i put less than 200rds through it before it went into a MPA Hybrid(carbon barrel as well since i take it backpacking a lot, and its my moto rifle, so weight was a consideration), and threw in a TTD. Overall i think it is an excellent rifle that is absolutely capable of being competitive, at a very reasonable price. But then again i also went with it over the T1x mostly because i knew no matter what i got, it was going to be swapped for a Vudoo at some point, so the parts compatibility became the major deciding factor. ~1.5k rds in at this point and zero malfunctions that i can recall. Other than i had significant feed issues with the MPA chassis, that seem to have been remedied with MPAs mag blocks, and perhaps slight geometry changes in the newer Bergara mags(though i cant get them to actually admit it). Thanks for the review, look forward to seeing what you can do with it.

Hi from Northern Ireland, I am looking for a .22lr. I watched your video on the CZ MDT and it was amazing, but I like the look of this rifle. I am a fan of synthetic stocks. I was also looking at a Ruger American Long Range Target. Have you any thoughts on this Ruger rifle?
@XRING Жыл бұрын
Hello Oscar! Thanks for watching the channel. I am going to say that you should really consider the CZ or the Tikka the most. Both of them are extremely nice right out of the box without any of the fees issues or accuracy issues from others.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I have been working my way through your play list. I appreciate your methodical approach and honesty. I come from the air gun world and shoot an FX Crown in a 700mm barrel configuration. I really enjoyed your .22 LR Vs air gun shoot out. If I might chance my arm for one more question. Would you go for 16" or a 20" barrel on a CZ MTR? Please keep up the great content.

Too funny. I have the same rifle and I initially shot with my can on for the cool factor. I was getting too many flyers. So I removed it and my groups are tighter and more consistent. I’ve seen many posts on snipers hide about the B14 with a can not grouping as well as without it. So it seems to be the consensus. I have a cheap Hunter town arms can so I initially thought it was just my can. Doesnt appear to be the case. Anyway I shoot without the can.
@theshootindutchman6 ай бұрын
In all of the b14 videos I've watched, you never see extreme accuracy from the carbon fiber barrels when suppressed. I believe the fact that the metal barrel inside the carbon fiber shell is pretensioned at the factory and installing the can tensioned against the barrel stop throws the harmonics off on the barrel. I would personally never buy a carbon fiber barrel for this reason.......

Very smooth action on a B14R? How was that action modified? The worst part of my B14R is that the action is awful! Accuracy is subpar. Much improved after an EC Tuner was installed. Also trigger is OK, but up there in pull. Timney HIT at 8 oz made a huge difference.

Been running a Carbon since May of 2020. I have about 3.5K worth of rounds through it. I will say I noticed an improvement of accuracy after the intial about 1000-1200 rounds. I had terrible performance with my super lightweight AAC Aviator can. So its be a nonsuppressed rifle for the last 11 months. A couple weeks ago I borrowed a friend's local made rimfire can....performance was good. That can was much heavier as well. I changed out the trigger to an old Rifle Basix set to about 1.5lbs and dropped into a legacy AI chassis. Magazine lock up and general function has been flawless. I think I've had two rounds stuck in the action.....could've hit the scope and fell back in....I honestly don't know. Have an original Premeir Heritage on top. Have qualified for the NRL22 Championship and currently sitting 4th Overall in our 5 area clubs in Open Division.

Good point Kamoni. However, we are all shooting sub sonic ammunition out of a long rifle and not pistol and we are outside. Average db is less than 70db at the shooters ear. Average city life with traffic measures around 70db as well just for reference. While any prolonged exposure isn’t good it is definitely not the same as standard .22.

You kept saying “same lot” like it was some sort of advantage. I mean it's definitely a “good to know” when comparing rifle's, but it illicits the same response from me as “we're both shooting the same hand loads in both rifles”: I mean it's good to know, but if they're not tailored to the rifle then what do we take away from this? It's even worse if one round is selected because it performs favorably in one rifle or the other! Anyways, you also made a video previously showing that a suppressor is inherently less accurate, so that's another variable: why would you bother on a 22 shooting subsonic? ... this video isn't my favorite that you've ever made (though I'm comparing it to some mind blowing knowledge bombs you've dropped, so maybe I'm being overly critical). That said, great review on the scope.
