XS Sights- Difference Between Big Dots & Standard Dot

I love my big dot for ccw, people ask if they cover the target. You are not trying to shoot a antenna off a car from 50 yards. They are not the size of a coffee cup.

Good video. About what I expected. Standard dot slightly more accurate at distances, and big dot on target a little quicker. It was good to see them lined up beside each other. I have been searching for this very comparison, since I am looking at purchasing one of the two sights for a Sig p230. In the end it is always about the intended use. Mine is for CC, so I'll probably go with the big dot. Thanks for this information.

I'm late to the party. I order one, the green standard dot. I thought I ordered the big dot, not even mad. I think this is a perfect size for up close and some distance fun at the range.

With both eyes open I really don't see the large dot impeding your view much.

I'm getting the big one as I am getting older. I've always used the hd' s and wanted to give these a shot. The Ameriglo cap sights are on my shield. I think I'm going big for my 26. Thanks man good comparison.

I had a p320 with xs f8 sights that shot 4" high with any sight picture. I honestly hated the ultra tall sights and gave XS a call. They switched them out for the big dot sights free of charge.

QUESTION.Why would anyone not want tritium in the rear? Is there a valid reason behind that? Doesn't that make the sights useless at night, home defense particularly?

yea I really can't tell a difference. ..I put the small ones on my 17 and big dots on my 19s and 26's. ..it is easier for me to shoot further with the small ones it seems like. ..

Capo Jay, well covered informative review. Question. Wouldn't the big dot front sight (not the standard size sight) block out most of the target when aiming? I have yet to try them, but I do like the concept as in doting the i as I was told.

big dot for ccw super fast. You will be fine for cat size targets

Capo Jay, do they make the rear post a different width for the sig vs the glock? I noticed the glock was wider than your sig. Or was that because the big dot width is wider than the standard?

Yep. Seems that each model of gun has different dimensions for the rear sight. I don't think it has anything to do with standard/big size of the dot.

I'm debating whether to get the plain white rear or tritium. Is the rear just as bright as the front sight? Or a bit dimmer?

I prefer the Tritium in the rear. It helps you line up and angle the gun properly. Both seem equally bright.

Is the rear sight on the bid dot smaller or shorter than the regular dot rear sight line or is it just my old eyes. My Glock 27 is probably getting big dots very soon. Good comparison Sold me!

Yes it's shorter. Different model guns have slightly different sized/shaped sights but the effect is the same.

george dente big advantage I started realizing that the that I could shoot just as fast up close with the trijicon sights because it's really intuitive shooting and with the xs sights past ten yards my rounds were all over the place. Now I have the speed up close and the accuracy at distances . Just the way it works for me , to each his own

There new F8s does have an orange color, smaller then the big dots but is colored.
