Thanks for these videos they are very informative. The data looks great! Id totally get one but the $2,600 yearly fee is a deal breaker for me. One year for free isn’t enough. Would Make me feel like I never fully own it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm just looking for a suit for a low price + good quality. Overall, the video made me think... Before that, I was confident in Rococo, but now I'm thinking. In my first job, I worked with Avinda and it was... well... challenged. Of course, after working with an optical mocap, you look at Rokoko or Xsens like "Toys". But the price, of course, is also not for "Toys" there XD. Therefore, for personal use, it doesn’t even sound bad you know. Thanks a lot man! P.S I realy like your videos! Great works mate! But you clearly lack the skills to mocap clean. I have been doing this for 5 years in an outsourcing studio, so if you suddenly need help or some advice, I will be happy to help you figure it out, just like you helped me right now.

I am interested in purchasing the Xsens Awinda, but we already have the Xsens Suits system. Will the Awinda system be compatible with the same software? Additionally, can I use the sensors specifically for collecting data on the lower limbs using the suits, or is there another option available for this purpose?

Keep in mind Rokoko Pro 2 is a newer system just announced, I preorder it! And they also now using post processing like xsens, howevery they only charging $20 a month xsens charges way more!

that is indeed a much needed feature for single man studio. I made a simple macro that presses enter after few seconds. I can sen you that if you want.

Ron Ducats rhe 2020 mvn animate now has wait feature for last calibration finish button. but it still lacks waiting feature for resetting axis.

Ron, thank you so much for these videos. Can you comment on the Awinda's performance when you were not firmly on your feet? Did/would it work well if the actor were on his back, or on his side?

Hi Donald, the suit does an excellent job detecting crawling, rolling, sitting down on the floor, pushups, etc. I haven't been absolutely on my back, but I have done an army crawl and it works. I will say there is a 5-10% chance your character will fly off the grid, and be un-usable animation. Hi, great video, very informative. I have the suit, I purchased it last year December. I have used it a little bit, but not a lot as I have been trying to learn other related skills i.e., Character creation, UE4, more of Blender, animation editing etc :). You are definitely right about the monthly subscription cost that is looming for me in the coming months. You have captured the motion capture data really well. Which is great as I have a better understanding of the quality of capture I can get.

Hey Ron, how long does it take you to produce the mocap elements of your Halo videos (ie not the camera work/world build etc)? If setup time is 10 min now that you know what you're doing, can you throw it on and grab a few pickup shots in 30 min? How many shots would you get done in say, a 4 hour session, assuming you were working in your home studio and don't have to do any crazy park stunts? Thanks!

Hi! Yeah I've done pickup shots in 30 min and less before. Of course there is the processing after recording (to get the best data, this depends on your processing power and cores). In 2.5 hours I managed to record outside and 7 characters for 3 minutes each, all in heavy action (running jumping etc). It just took time for me to get my energy back, and organize the "set".

Magnus gloves for Xsens is around $4,300 and work wireless with Awinda or the Link xsens options. They also both work with iclone

Also, quick note. You use PVC pipe for what you're describing. Saying you're using a PCP Pipe implies you're smoking angel dust.

Nice system however, to clean up the data and even to export you have to pay $2700 a year! That’s dumb! I am just going to upgrade to Neuron Pro, I currently have Neuron first generation, Because at the ended of the day all systems need post processing. Especially inertia base suits! There is no exception, no suit will give you a one to one motion and all suits have some problems.

I decided to preorder the New Rokoko Pro 2, neuron pro is not being supportive any more software wise. They now supporting mainly studio! Second the new PN3 uses only 8G accelerometer which is not to great for fast action like fighting. I currently have first generation of PN, and the quality is not that great

Nice Shapes rokoko can be pretty good in an no magnetic envoronment. but if your area is heavily magnetic prone, the drift can be very bad.
