I think this is like the only part of the book where I actually respect Ellie because to stand up to guy like that, especially one much older than you, takes a LOT of balls trust me. And she knew how much it was going to hurt but did the right thing anyway.

I'm glad they made Ellie break up with Russell. It was so disappointing and spineless in the book when she just went back to him. Sure, second chances can be a good thing, but not in that situation. It didn't make her a good role model at all.

+Ruth Croft Me too, I hated that in the book she got back with him just because he drew her a pretty picture! Plus he was even worse in the books - I remember him constantly pressuring her for sex and then humiliating her in front of his friends at the party.

I like that this didnt particulary have the fairytale" they all lived happily ever after" happy ending but rather that your best mates and your fam are what's important to help you through the tough times! LOVE this series :)

I think they put the ending different to the book (Ellie ending it with Russel) for a reason- to show girls to not be pushovers and to not let themselves be walked all over. I know its different from the book but its a good idea. Also Russell is really sneaky in this, but the book Russel at least was big enough to admit what he did and was sorry.

It must be really hard for Ellie, but in the end she did the right thing and let her boyfriend go, even though she knew it was going to hurt. But can you please stop saying things like, "Russel is ugly!" because these people are REAL!!! And their characters might be mean, but I bet it would hurt someone, just like it would hurt you.

I liked the ending better in the book, I know everyone hates Russell but I think he did love Ellie but was a bit of a coward and wasn't honest with her. Its not that he's a bad guy he just needs more courage really...

@babiiemmii OK, if you read the titles at the beggining, it says BASED ON THE BOOK. so quit comparing the book to the television series. BASED doesn't not mean EXACT. If you'ved watched Twilight, it says BASED on the book, right? Or Gossip Girl? BASED on the book series. The same goes with these series. it's BASED, not EXACT. Things can change.

Well, this is so different than the book. Where are there school uniforms? Magda's supposed to be blonde. Nadine is supposed to be tall and skinny. Ellie is supposed to have brown frizzy hair and she's supposed to wear glasses. Russell's hair is supposed to be like ruffled and long....

I get Ellie, the pain, the horror. It's really not easy to tell who's lying and who's right but I guess you have to listen to your heart and where it takes ya. I should know coz this exact thing happened to me a year ago when my boyfriend kissed my best friend but I had to deal with and I found out that my boyfriend was lying so I just left him. 
