The comic gives a lot more context and history to the things, not to mention it even shows that his tears are blood, or that Cross is a failed try of an X-Event. I absolutely love how Alphys has been a hidden PoV character throughout this entire story despite being a side character in the games. Her along with Sans understands the meta narrative going on around them is a very nice take. *NOTE* I do not know whether Alphys was self-aware in Undertale proper but I'd like to think there were hints. if so this story is a fantastic expansion on that idea; if not, then this story is fantastic for taking that narrative path and choice.

I think i understand now. I don't know if people didn't realize, but after binge-watching all as a second time, when gaster stopped sans from saving frisk from the tree was because for a second they saw the future that he wanted vanish from his eyes. And Chara/Frisk/X-event couldn't see despite having half of his soul. What X!Gaster wants is to feel that strage feeling of tranquility that he felt in the glimpse of his future, but i don't think that gaster knows what will happen in the future. He knows about the feeling of tranquility, and that is all that he knows about the future. *Pheraps he believes that that tranquility is from obtaining the perfect creation, but maybe its the tranquility of something else.*

He doesn’t like any of what’s going on, but him perhaps not understanding what XGaster is doing or him just hating Frisk/Chara that much for the way their treating the situation makes him decide XGaster is the lesser evil. He just wants a normal universe, he doesn’t care about good and evil. He just wants it to stop. At least that’s the way I see it

@@jenssenvelasquez9811 Chara/Frisk would've been the one in control of the universe then, and seeing that Chara/Frisk had recently used, attacked, and turned everyone against him, he didn't want that. He decided to take matters into his own hands, and claim the Overwrite button for himself. His plan was to do genocide, get the Overwrite button, then bring everyone back and create a happy universe. He wanted to do the same thing as Chara/Frisk (creating a happy universe), but he didnt trust Chara/Frisk so he decided to do it himself. Unfortunately, his plan fell apart when he realised that a monster soul cant operate the Overwrite button, so he couldn't bring back all his friends as he'd planned. Guilt and mental breakdown ensues.

While everybody discussing about the episode can we have some moment paying attention to our talented Jael. Underverse since the day it released already very successful and the series is completed flawlessly. But when Jael decided to develop the prequel I was amazed because her imagination is impressive, this universe already successfully being developed and she could still have ideas for more and at this point when she completed the prequel it still match perfectly with the story line without any mistake. Cross was an idiot, he ruined their plan. They just needed to kill XGaster to finally deal with the only remaining issue. He thought he could take the humans soul kill them all and then overwrite and be the one in control, but aparently monsters can’t overwrite so now chara the only survivor of the event, frisk now being dead from xsans, has the power and xsans can never use it, in underverse when cross dies, it’s xcharas chance their last chance. They just need the other half of xgasters soul to fix their world. Especially since they gathered assets beforehand

My god, this, it all makes sence now. Sans after seeing the Overwrite take place so many times, he had come up with a plan that almost worked, he would take Frisk/Chara's soul, and redo everything, remake all of it, have a world made by nither Frisk, Chara, Or XGaster a world, like the rest, with peace. But he never seen how the soul merging wouldn't work, and as for the ending of season 1, it explains why XGaster gave him another chance, he played his roll in the plan, and XGaster won because of it. Thank you Jael for one of the best Storys, and Animations ever, take a looooooooooong break, you need and deserve it.

The problem with Ink is that he has no feelings. He doesn't care about his creations and the creators of AUs. He lost all his motivtions without us giving him.colors to make him feel something. Which is pretty sad how fucked up "evil" Ink is. Error was right to destroy all the AUs. Only Core Frisk is the only sane entity.

This episode was so sad, and so dark. The twisted things Frisk did to end their own existence, the influence of Chara causing them to do those things, the plummet in their mental state as they started to become more and more manipulative was heart breaking. Then they even went as far as to give them their painful memories back, so much so they would enact revenge on Gaster. Sans was the only one who stood in the way, and even papyrus, was so thirsty for that vengeance that he would've killed his own brother and moments later Sans did the same. I'm not gonna lie this is one of the saddest undertale related animations I've ever seen. It was beautifully animated and I just want to say you're doing great Jael! We love your work!

Well, the Comic that was shown in the beginning shows Sans perspective and uhm... Lets just say, Sans survived Papyrus Gasterblasterstorm outside because he used some bones to protect himself and the kid (everyone not saved by Sans' "bonewall" died, it was just a huge mess outside) and in the fight against everyone he killed everyone except Papyrus but then Papyrus was like:"Heyy, give up, it will be better for everyone" and then Sans was like "Fuc kyou". I feel so sad for this sans. From XGaster driving Frisk and Chara into a corner until they decided that they were done caring. That they will have no more attachments, to have nothing but the relief and hope of being free from him. This drove them up so much they became a cornered animal, fighting and biting, trying to grasp anything. This is what lead them to even overwriting on Sans. Of course there is something I noticed. Chara seems to be the leader, the one who has the say to things, and Frisk easily complies or gives in. It seems like the resets of her dying each time by Chara has made her submissive, there is no spark of anger or defiance or determination of her own. It's all Chara's which is why when Sans got their soul, Frisk actually died. And that bullshit about a monster not being able to use overwritten because he has a monster's body? That's boloney, seeing as XGaster is a monster himself and was able to use both abilities with Chara's determination. However I have noticed that the soul San has isn't balanced like how Frisk had it. Chara's determination takes more than half of the soul, with a slim purple on one side. I think that's the actual reason San's can't use it. There has to be some balance, like yin and yang. If one overpowers the other, it's full potential can't be used. And since XGaster soul is purple and he is the one with the overwritten button, it would be obvious that if the soul doesn't have enough, it can't use it.

Sans is literally like any other Sans, but what seems to make him different is his ability to make decisions that benefit Gaster. He absorbed the human soul to stop the madness they were enduring, which made it to where the human (Chara) could no longer use Overwrite. That was a good thing, but it was mostly a bad thing seeing as Sans (Cross) is now stuck as this vessel for Chara. Since monster souls can't use the ability to Overwrite, or pretty much any ability to manipulate the timeline, he can't fix anything that has happened. He's stuck. This isn't just a story on the creation of X-Tale, this is a story on how Sans became Cross, and how he now has the option to fix his mistakes and set everything as right as it'll go.
