There’s more original song writing in this 15 set gig than most bands could hope to achieve over a catalogue of 100+ songs. And the scary thing is perhaps their greatest work never saw live performances. Can you imagine this show with the added delight of live versions of That’s Really Super, Supergirl, Dear God, Mayor of Simpleton, Peter Pumkinhead, Across the Antheap, Easter Theatre and on and on

God, they're so fucking good. Andy is such an electric performer. You can't tell his brain just isn't into it. To a casual observer he's having a great time. Too bad, but thank goodness for video recordings.

Just to echo a couple of other comments on here, I saw them at Blackpool with about 150 others. Despite some obvious bemusement at how few of us were there, the level of performance and energy was exceptional; really great live band.

Dangerous band for a young musician to get into - as I was 20 years ago. If they couldn't truly break through then what chance do you have? XTC are a lesson in futility. I fucking love them, but most punters don't know they are one of the best.

'Most punters' don't know they existed. I know people in the UK pop music industry who made or broke bands on a whim - know-nothings with money and influence. The classical world would have given them the respect they deserved if that had been their genre.

This is AMAZING. I guess I never realized the energy they brought live, given their later and great years. How I wish I could see the timeline where they played their later music live, with a live interpretation and energy on those great tunes. Would never want to lose the studio versions, but long to see the evolution of their live interpretations...

Not they're best song ! There are better tracks on Blacksea, alone . This and Towers of London, are the weakest tracks on the album . But thats not to say they are bad songs .

Saw them in Hollywood '79 with Wall of Voodoo opening for them, spectacular! Then in 80 excited for them only to be turned away as Andy got stage fright, we all were so bummed I continue to listen to them 40 yrs later and after Led Zeppelin, my favorite all time band!!!!
