Hats off to their local TV archivist for preserving these treasures for us to see ❤

All the bands and fashions that they "slag off" in the lyric, they love in reality. So true of most of the bands around circa 76-78. Most loved the 60s. The Damned being another that springs to mind. The Stranglers too.

Terry Chambers once again is the model precision drummer. A human metronome

How times change. 45 years later, a girl who dresses like it is 1967 is the cool one and those from 1976 are the squares.

Not by any means their greatest work, but this sounds so amazing for 1976.

Recorded in the basement of 14 Victoria Road - the studio of Britain's longest-running community tv station, Swindon Viewpoint. Director, Station Manager, Richard Dunn (subsequently head of Thames TV). I was there.

more than a hint of bebop deluxe about this version of the band.
@mightyV4443 жыл бұрын
I heard only yesterday that they actually were bigger than XTC! But I would still not know Bebop Deluxe even today, had they not been included in one of the DVD's from the 'Old Grey Whistle Test' TV show!

Wow. This sounds almost like a Canterbury band. It could be a Gong song!

John Perkins later left the group and was replaced by Barry Andrews (who played on their first 2 albums).

love the way Andy Poos nearly fucks up the first flourish of guitar! But...so great to hear the alternative to the ep original.
