My 03 will do anything I ask of it and more. It is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I'm looking forward to upgrading to a 2012 or newer Pro4x sometime in the next year.

I think it's worth it. The 4.0 L is packs a punch over the previous super charged w/ better fuel econ

xterras are great all mine has asked for is an oil change Anda new clutch and is now asking for a new water pump but other than that we have gone to hell and back it's done light rock crawling nothing to serían deep water mudding

Fun video. Good advice here, repeated often: keep a steady forward pace and throttle. Also add a bit of brake, even going up hill, for better control and takes a lot of the bounce away. I have a 2008, lifted 2"& fully plated underneath w/ home made 3/16" steel. I need to revise the silly rock rails. But w/ 285's it has over 11" clearance and goes everywhere. I also have receivers front & rear for port. 8K Lb. winch. I traded my 08 JP for the X for stronger towing; great power and off road, too.

I know they aren't quite as good as a Jeep Rubicon off road, however, I've been in places (NJ Pinebarrens) where Jeep is actually too wide to go between trees, an I can just squeeze the Nissan through.

Depends.. The mid 90s Pathy and Xterra are about the same. The current Xterra and Pathy share the same frame but thats about it

The more stuff I see the less confidence I have in my xterra. Definitely a huge step down from my stock Toyota truck that is thirteen years it's senior as far as off road goes and I've never even taken it off road

Mine was not, all suspension from PRG Products and Alcan Springs. Can't speak for the others. Mine is the 2005 in grey with all of the stickers, rear tire carrier, roof rack, etc.

nice video, how realible has Your x terra been, i'm planning on buying a 2005 xterra off road with auto transmisión but i dont know if its a truck That can give me problems , i've Heard That the engine tends to overheat in off roading conditions, something about the cooling system. have you had any isues with your X? thanks

Shame Nissan is canning them for 2016. They won't have a decent off-road worthy 4x4 SUV in their lineup.

+fredbrackely no they aren't. there still keeping them for 2016. They will just be sold as a 2015 model. if you check out the Nissan homepage website, they still have the 2015 pathfinder, and other vehicles. I also asked my local dealer about the Xterra if they will remove it in 2016, and they said it will continue to be made but it will be just like a 2015 model.

Yeah, I bought mine at the end of October 2015. I was told that mine was the last one sold in California. Mine was shipped from a dealer in Idaho.

Although, I live in Canada were I go off-roading in the Rockies, I still see some Xterra's being sold at my local dealership. every time I drive by it, there a different colored Xterra. But hey, eventually in 2-6 years, they 2015's are gonna be on kijiji and everywhere so im gonna grab one :D Hope your happy with your Xterra.

It depends. Which Gen? 00-04 (gen1) or 05+ (gen 2). Gen1 you can get a 2" body lift for less than 100$(buying parts separately) and poor mans lift (maybe 1.5") (80$ for shackles-shipped) for the rear, and adjusting the torsion bars (free) up front. (you need an alignment after adjusting the bars though) If you want to go for the 3" suspension LIFT , it starts to get more expensive, as you need UCAs for the front to be able to align after raising more. If you just want bigger tires, you cld do the 2" BL and fit 33" under there. Visit Club xterra for awesome insight. T$
