The first two releases from this band deserve more praise in the deathcore community. Also I think it's crazy how Oliver Sykes is always considered "cool with the kids" in some capacity, literally every generation. People don't usually stay trendy that long. @tshred6668 ай бұрын
22:52 imma have to say this, but architects came up in the scene alongside BMTH, also starting off with a sound that’s extremely reminiscent of Norma Jean, Converge, and Dillinger Escape Plan. Ruin inspired the stylistic shift they had on suicide season, which in turn inspired Hollow Crown, which is where all the electronic and pop mixed with metalcore and hardcore bands partially drew inspiration from. Though I see the influence architects and BMTH had on bands those attack attack and asking Alexandria kinda bands as secondary to the influence of bands like saosin, circa survive, blessthefall, underoath, the used, a day to remember, senses fail, from first to last, falling in reverse, avenged sevenfold, and basically every other band that tried to blend together groove metal/metalcore/new wave of American heavy metal and pop punk. All with varying degrees of success *glares at Matt shadows vocals on the first two a7x records, the massive blemish on the face of two otherwise perfect records that beautifully married the sound of bands like afi and screeching weasel with bands like Metallica and pantera.* I would’ve likely included B4MV in the past but their first two records were just straight up copying Trivium and i love them for that. Once I got used to Matt’s vocals on ascendancy and ember to inferno, that was “the sound” for me. Everything I wanted to play and imitate. Metallica with just enough influence from 90’s hardcore to make it fresh and exciting.

I had discovered this band around 2013. And so Sempiternal was something I did listen to quite often. I do remember how polarizing the comments were when the album came out. And now fastforward it is considered one of their best. Its always amusing to me to see how people's opinions change over time. I feel like after they retire, the band is going to be praised even more. I had listened to their previous works, and it is quite clear to me that they were always going to take an experimental route.

RWARRRR. Their first E.P. is so epic. Man like you said you can't hate on them. As we get older out music changes. I never thought ar 43 I would love Doom and Black Metal as of this year or Japanese flute but I do. Our tastes changes and being Hardcore is all about being open minded and if your not open minded you missed out on alot and you certainly better not say you love Hardcore. Asking Alexandria did the same thing and they verbally said, "we want to become more rock and roll" I say good for them. I may not like their new style of both bands but im happy they had the courage to still follow their passions and none of us should fault them for that. They arent sell outs !! Don't even get me started on CODE Orange😂 SMH.. Well I hope both bands keep following their passions. Thats Hardcore. They didn't care and who are we to tell them what to do with their passion to play music. Much love and all but kind words for anyone who read my comment 0:58

Suicide season, there is a hell…, and sempiternal have all been an acquired taste for me, but even right out the gate I loved count your blessings even though I acted like a hater. I’ve always been critical of the production and sound design, though it’s still more tolerable than the cleansing or unhallowed. I think it’s because I took a liking to ABRB’s Allegiance right away because of the songwriting and it’s the one record of that style and time period that isn’t overly compressed or distorted to the point that a lot of the music is unintelligible (though it’s a bit too high on the decibels at times) and listening to it repeatedly I became accustomed to the weird eclectic songwriting as well as the overly loud and synthetic sound of digitally produced music and eventually took a liking to deathcore. That and seeing metalcore and deathcore bands at the 2012 summer slaughter fest and feeling the energy in the room, even though the sound techs at the grove absolutely ruined most of their sets. What I find especially funny is how as I’ve grown up the sound of older, more lo-fi death metal and grindcore records made with analog equipment like from enslavement to obliteration and blasphemy made flesh, the guitar work that used to be crisp and clear to my ears has become more unintelligible while now I can understand every riff on the cleansing, which I used to not be able to do

I have never found myself wanting to listen to a full deathcore album unless it was bmth, havent listened to the ep, but I listened to albums from count your blessings to sempiternal. Count your blessings is peak. I couldn't get into sempiternal as much as other people, mostly because of seeing so many unfunny sigma edits using can you feel my heart, which isn't my favorite to begin with, the other songs are good, but some of them sound a little similar, which nothing wrong with that, but just hearing some kind of pattern turned me off from it a little. as for new songs, I've heard Kingslayer, parasite eve, amen, lost and a small bit of kool-aid. which all of those except for kool-aid were good if not great (excluded kool-aid because i don't remember anything about it).
