Thanks for the video, curious on a comparison in just making the board directly in the machine vs conveyer - since the end result fits into the bed of the laser. I know this is more of a demo video but it seems there are a lot of things you need to do to get the conveyer to work, so it'd be interesting to see what projects would actually need the extra space (and worth the extra $$, time and space) versus something that could just been burned inside the machine.

There is a pressure indicator built-in to the conveyor. It's on the roller section. it changes color based on the correct pressure.

I have yet to use mine, but I have a few thoughts and suggestions (as KZbin commenters do...): 1. Did you try using XCS in "Slats flat" mode with the tray not in the upmost position? I do think XCS will refuse to work with an error message. 2. Instead of guessing how to set up the pressure rollers check "Appendix 2 - Pressure levels recommended for common materials" in the manual 🙂. 3. For cutting with the conveyor feeder, using tabs is a really good idea. If parts of your cut pieces fall down they will block the conveyor mechanism. 4. With the conveyor feeder (and riser base generally) do take safety precautions, because the P2 becomes a class 4 laser. The laser beam can get reflected out of the enclosure and you'll only see that happen twice.

Hey Kyle, nice video! For laser cutting solid wood you should, instead of just flooring it and go slow once, speed it up *significantly* and makes 2 - 3 passes. With this method, much less heat gets transferred into the material, but were the laser hits gets vaporized and the piece has time to cool down. This results in a *much* cleaner cut without burning and way less charring.
@SpicerDesignsLLC11 ай бұрын
I sped it up on the machine sign and it was much better. Thanks for the pointers.

Nice set-up and video. They should have designed it with rollers on both sides enabling it to go right to the edge ends and would allow two points of control for longer pieces. If you were doing multiple similar pieces, I wonder if you could fab a jig on the table such as two angle iron runners slid into the edge of the material to ensure they travel in square. keep up the good work.
@SpicerDesignsLLC10 ай бұрын
I thought about a more permanent setup that would allow you to square the material to the machine. I will keep your idea in mind

Can you tell me, how likely is that conveyor to slip the material? Because like you encountered, if the conveyer is not as accurate as the laser itself, it will miss millimeters. How accurate is the conveyer?
@SpicerDesignsLLC4 ай бұрын
The material wont slip if you have the tension set right on the conveyor. And you just have to take your time to get it squared up. It is a little tricky to use. I rarely use it.

This is totally off subject and I hope you don't mind the question was looking at the same CNC plasma table was wondering what size of of air compressor you use for your table to handle the CFM and if I need to go with a compressor that is 120 V or would be wise to have a 240 V or whatever going to have tue primeweld cut 60 the out put is 80 psi for 5 CFM .
