Really curious to what you were wiping the wood down with to remove the scorch marks..I upgraded to a s1 here about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it

Great Video! I was wondering how well it worked and what the real world cons/hangups. I try to be realistic, which I feel like this video was. I hit the buy button on a xTool today with the conveyor, so really this is about what I expected real world from it. I have CNCs so I expecting tabs were going to be a thing. Now the thickness limit is well a bad limit, I could see using a sacrificial board under the workpiece could actually work out well, but half a inch doesnt leave much wiggle room for things like that

There are some benefits for sure, but the thickness of clearance is a bummer.

I have apparently lost nearly all ability to use the internet. Can you please tell me what the assembled dimensions of the entire unit are with the basic conveyor system? I have one on the way and am trying to get my space ready. Thank you.

Another great video Matt. 👍🏻 what did you use to clean the resin off the board at the beginning?
@VoeltnerWoodworking9 ай бұрын
Thanks Martin! It was actually just water because that was a UV coated birch. For most engraving I use water but sometimes denatured alcohol.

Where did you get your wood for conveyor projects?

Operator errors encountered should be the title.

Any recommendations on this S1 vs the P2? After watching your videos im leaning more towards this S1.
@VoeltnerWoodworking9 ай бұрын
My P2 arrives next week. I have other CO2 lasers and can tell you it really depends on the type of work you want to do. For fiber engraving or stainless steel this is great. If you want to cut clear acrylic the P2 is the best choice.

Where did you buy the large and long plywood
@VoeltnerWoodworking9 ай бұрын
I get most of my hardwood and plywood from a local supplier, Houston Hardwoods. You can get sheets like this at the big box stores too, but it will cost quite a bit more.

Not allowed the feeder un the UK so we cant get the full potential of the machine i feel conned and i2ve certainly let xtool know seeing as all the marketing is American you buy into it waste 2600 pounds and are just left limited to what i acn do with it
@VoeltnerWoodworking8 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. Did it not show what options you had when you purchased the machine?

I saw someone on KZbin Pushing it through manually Somehow they connected it in the software by putting in a marker And a small overlap
@VoeltnerWoodworking8 ай бұрын
@darknessfierce4209 very interesting. Would definitely take longer that way but sounds like it would work similar to the glowforge pass through.

Why does the roller come with goggles if xTool claims the S1 is a Class 1 laser? Why is there no mention of the goggles on the "S1" webpage, they just say goggles are not needed?
@VoeltnerWoodworking9 ай бұрын
The bottom of the laser is exposed when the front/rear doors are down with the conveyor attached. If you plan on looking underneath you should use the safety glasses to prevent eye damage. The glasses are not needed if looking through the top cover. I hope this helps.
